Chrysler 75 horsepower seems to lack a lot of power at wot

Never heard about pressure test the crank case. Most important things for these two stroker are compression and maybe a leak down test of the crank case. Compression 120 PSI or more and quit equal for the cylinders, no more then +- 10-15%. The leak down test show how well the crank seals, reed...

    1970 Chrysler 70hp outboard motor

These are hard to rope start and you need a battery to check for spark, cause the ignition system is feed from the battery. First pull the plugs and then try to turn the flywheel over. If it turns over freely then connect a battery and check the compression. If the compression is 120 PSI or more...

    Chrysler 25hp coils

The coils are fed from the terminal stripe 12 volt plus and the minus side of the coils goes to the points and condensers. The 12 volt at terminal stripe are hot when ignition switch is in RUN and START position.

    Chrysler 25hp coils

The engine was designed for 12 volt. The starter is 12 volt so you need 12 volt ignition coils.

    Chrysler 25hp coils

You need non resistor coils. OEM or aftermarket coils are expensive, Mastertech Marine have them BUT 133 dollar each. Try Ebay, auto style coils are a solution or motorcycle coils with battery feed ignition.

Sea King 9.2hp will not Spark

If back fire check flywheel key. Check and change the fuel pump diaphragm. If the diaphragm is torn and maybe a hole in it the fuel will go directly to the cylinder and not through the carb. The engine will have to rich mixture.

Piston tool for Chrysler 75 hp 757HB

Erik the spacers has press fitting that is why you need the tool so you get the right distance for the connecting rod to the piston. One side of the tool is 0,295 in (7,49 mm) and the other side is 0,310 in (7,87mm). I do not have the OEM tool but I have made a tool with the rounded U to fit the...

Sea King 9.2hp will not Spark

I use water sand paper when cleaning points, 400 or higher. Then I spray with cleaning solvent such as CRC Brakleen or similar. Then I take a paper and drag through the points when closed. If the points are clean you will see it at the paper.

Sea King 9.2hp will not Spark

If no fire at one cylinder after cleaning the points swap the condensers and se if the fire moves. For new condensers try Franz Marine or Ebay. Another thing to do if not finding new condensers you can check out for OMC or Mercury condensers that are in the same size physically. The value of the...

    1987 Force 85 vs Force 90

The controls are the same up until about 1995, then they changed to Mercury style remote control and cables. The 85Hp is a 3 cylinder engine with std bore 3,312 in. The 90 is a 3 cylinder engine wíth std bore 3,375 in. The intake port maybe different and the jets in the carbs are different.

    Mercury & Force Compatibility

No they are not compatible. I think in 1995 Brunswick started to put Mercury LU at the bigger Force engines 40Hp and up.

    Motor dies then won't start

I agree from my experience. You can rebuild a starter more then one or two times. If the commutator are in good shape and the brushes don´t are so worn out that the copper cord has started to touching the commutator. The bushings can be replaced if they are worn. A machine shop will be able to...

How to set the shift and throttle cables and mechanisms?

They play and the procedure you do is not so uncommon in my experience. When the control, wires and the linkage get old is the procedure going from forward to reverse slightly and then to neutral to get the safety switch to be depressed a good way to handle the remote control. When you get used...

    Throttle/Shift Cables

Good to hear you have the new cables in place. Do not make any adjustment on the shift rod by now. Check that the cables are connected at the right hole in the remote control box (if you have the older Chrysler remote box) and that the cables are threaded in the connectors to right distance as...

Good to hear it is up and running. Please make a feed back to the forum on how long the gluing of the magnet last. For example after a season or after 6 month or so.

    Bet up by a 1998 120hp force

My experience is that the old stainless steel (actually swedish SS for instance from the company Sandvik who I am working for) reeds last a lot longer then the "plastic" reeds which was on the later Force engines. I have had some broken SS reeds over the 25 years I have worked on Chrysler/Force...
