    Ask the renters for the paperwork. Or charge them for disposal. Texas I know is a sticky state. You could bond a title for boat and motor and trailer but it’s expensive and I think over a year before you can sell. And Texas won’t accept any Vermont registration which is a general loophole

    This is a major step backwards. Would not recommend going through with it. OMC engine with mercruiser accessories bolted on will be perfectly acceptable. Buy an SEI drive to complete it.     SEI will sell you a new outdrive and parts needed to install it as cheaply as you will get. Think you can basically go up to alpha one gen one which is about 1990
