    Roller To Bunk Conversion

I do boat until November. It is a little chilly then. I might try running the trailer a little more shallow next time and see what it does.

    Roller To Bunk Conversion

I kinda find it refreshing. The reason the trailer works is because the bunks catch the strakes and bring it straight on. I probably don’t need to run it so deep

    Boat trailer leaf springs+hubs

If this is a smaller boat trailer. Calculate cost of renovation vs buying new. I was in a similar situation and found a new trailer for about the same cost as renovation

    Roller To Bunk Conversion

I bought my venture bunk trailer brand new and it’s absolutely the best to launch and retrieve. I back it in until the bunks are just above the water to retrieve and pull it on. Always straight. Water is knee high or so doing that but it works perfectly

    Bow mount fuel tank. Balance?

I didn’t think of doing that. I’ll have to try it. I really don’t want to use a whale tail

    Bow mount fuel tank. Balance?

My boat could use some stern lift for the 25hp to work better. Would moving 6 gals portable from the stern to 12 gal permanent tank in the bow help?

    Delta Dawn- ‘72 Chieftain

My dad had the I/O version of the same boat ( even color ) when I was a kid and it sat on a tandem Shorelandr trailer. I think tandems were more common then. As for the fuel tanks. The twin tanks under the seat boxes are original location. If original tanks they will be Mirax brand

    Painting a boat trailer

Rust oleum with linseed oil mixed in is what my boss puts on his service truck frame every 3 years in the NY salt and it holds great. I’d use some rusty metal primer for sure though. For a gloss pro finish use hardener and reducer at 4:2:1 ratio. Mineral spirits works as a medium reducer or...

1966? Evinrude Big Twin 40 help

Just trade for a short shaft. Majority of those motors were short shaft. You will have more into it than it’s worth swapping

Steering bracket help 1959 lark 35

What is the range in motion? The cable drum setup on my boat can turn the motor nearly sideways but if you turn it anywhere near that it turns so sharp it’s actually scary

Steering bracket help 1959 lark 35

There are steering tubes available for motors without one. They attach to transom

Towing over rough terrain with outboard down?

Motor down is less stress on the transom and under normal circumstances the trailer has the clearance

Towing over rough terrain with outboard down?

I think there is 8” at the hitch

Towing over rough terrain with outboard down?

It also says that a boat of this size needs floatation even though I don’t think it ever had it. I think stuff does get grandfathered just like cars safety systems. This doesn’t mean I’m not looking for a solution but I haven’t found what I need yet

Towing over rough terrain with outboard down?

I don’t like it either but a marine battery box does not have clearance where it is. The only thing I could do is put in a universal hotrod type battery hold down screwed to the floor. But it’s a 66 so i don’t know as all the regs were in place then
