How would you do this transom?

I have almost $10k into a 14' boat worth about $3k. It's just the nature of the beast. At least mine I did because I know it is safe and reliable now.

Firing up remote control Johnson big twin 40 ( super Seahorse )

I manually closed the choke. Yes I checked the spark and it's perfect. It's an RD-28. It's cranking as fast as it ever has.. I'll try some carb cleaner. I'm only doing this for the next guy so to speak. My boat now has an EFI 4 stroke

Firing up remote control Johnson big twin 40 ( super Seahorse )

I can pump fuel into the carb with the primer bulb. I can pull the float bowl drain and verify this ( also perfectly clean coming out ). The spark is hot and it will fire up and run on mix sprayed into the carb. everything points to it should run. I even drained the fuel out of the carb...

Firing up remote control Johnson big twin 40 ( super Seahorse )

I understand how the bulb works. But my one hose wouldn't pump fuel. I verified by opening the carb drain

Firing up remote control Johnson big twin 40 ( super Seahorse )

I think the primer bulb quit and one of the valves is stuck. The spare hose I have worked fine to get fuel in.. I haven't taken the carb off yet.

Keeping boat interior (carpeting / fabric) "nice"

I got my fresh carpet and brand new seats dirty while doing various things on my boat for maint/ restoration... Blue Magic stain lifter has been my go to for years. . Grease on the vinyl. Dawn dish soap is about all you want or need as anything harsh will destroy the UV layer

Firing up remote control Johnson big twin 40 ( super Seahorse )

Well I had to hook up power and rig the control box, because I couldn't pull it over fast enough. Then I couldn't get it to fire. I sprayed mix into the intake with a spray bottle and it would run on that, but wouldn't pull from the carb.. Eventually I figured out that it wasn't getting fuel...

Has anyone seen or heard of a trailer tire doing this?

    Trailer Tires

Well, I would reccomend 4 205/75R14 Goodyear Endurance which will be LRD.... Carslile used to sell the "USA Trail" which really was a USA made bias ply, but as far as I know, they have went the way of the dodo bird. The Sport Trail is your basic Chinese bias ply where you might as well buy a...

Upgrading trailer tires and rims - need advice

It should be noted, as I have in the past. That the ST on the sidewall of a trailer tire has to do with the construction of the sidewall not being designed for a steerable axle.. But LT tires can be rated for trailer duty, just not all are. Most would be acceptable though.. I know Airstream...

    marine plywood.

Birch ply is an interior grade plywood made with interior rated glue.. It will rot and fall apart in an exterior application, let alone a marine environment.. You don't need perfect plywood to rebuild a boat. You only need perfect plywood to build a brand new wooden boat, and then your really...

    Vintage 3.5hp Sears

I agree. Will be noisy. But that is an interesting one. Never seen one quite like that. They were obviously looking at a Merc when they designed the cowl

hooking up 4stroke kicker to existing fuel tank (starcraft islander)

'68 islander, I'm pretty sure would have originally had tanks above the deck, underneath the 2 front seats. If you have below deck fuel tank, it's probably a previous owner modification done when the boat was refitted

hooking up 4stroke kicker to existing fuel tank (starcraft islander)

Use a 3 gallon portable under the rear seats. Way back when I was a kid, my dad ran his Honda 5hp off a Tee on the main line. It worked without issue.. but it gets contaminated and your not getting home

hooking up 4stroke kicker to existing fuel tank (starcraft islander)

After water separator. And filter. It should do it. However if you're tank gets contaminated. Your not getting home. With a portable and fresh gas, you will
