Are you replacing the high or low pressure pump? There may be a vst for the high pressure pump. I've seen those get blocked up with debris more than once

    Wealth preservation,....

Life insurance for me. A few years ago I realized i had accumulated enough policys that were paying their own premiums to roll everything into one monthly payment automatically withdrawn from my checking. A sound investment but takes years for the payoff/loan capability and the return isn't...

You can proceed however you want but it will be much easier and safer to accomplish with the drive removed With an oem manual tasks like this will be much more simple than relying on the internet for advice. What battery to use?

Two things you could do. One is add a second deep cycle battery parallel with the main engine cranking battery with a 1, 2, All battery switch and select the deep cycle (2) battery when using electronics with the engine not running. Two is the same scenario but with an isolator for the main...

    Mercruser 470/ 170 compatible parts

I doubt this When GM was manufacturing long blocks for mercury they would assemble one year's supply of every displacement engine for mercruiser in 48 hours. Serious volume capability The colloquially known 470 was introduced in the late 70's to fill the option spot left from the GM 3.8L...

    What battery to use?

The 24 volt trolling motor should be set up with two independent 12 volt batteries wired in series to create the 24 volt supply The main engine should have a dedicated 12 volt battery/batteries wired in parallel separate from the trolling motor batteries If your boat definitely only has one 12...

    Trim sensor

I use a 1/2" drive 5/8" hex for removal/install. There are other methods including the use of a special tool/adapter that allows for a regular socket to be used. Heat the recessed area of the pin for a minute with a small butane torch to aid removal The procedures for removal and installation...

The pin in the center of the mounting area for the sender threads tightly (100 lb/ft+) into and rotates with the bell housing as the trim raises/lowers the drive The sender body mounts to the gimbal ring and remains stationary as the pin rotates the actuator arm In your case the pin has lost...

Possible the bell housing threaded pin isn't tight in the bell housing and remaining stationary when the drive tilts up/down Remove the sender and observe the pin while the trim moves the drive up/down. The pin should rotate with the bell housing under normal operation.

    1986 Larson citation dashboard wiring

The oem manual for your engine has dash wiring schematics. Depending on the manufacturer and options it could vary a bit but the broad strokes ought to be correct. Try ebay for best bet, mercury will sell you one but it'll be retail price FYI the fuel guage is: pink = sender, purple = +, black...

Engine runs perfectly for 30 minutes + then dies with no dash power

Would add along with every +/- connection at battery/engine/harness to focus on the main engine harness ground connection at the flywheel cover. 2000 Volvo Penta 5.7 Gfi with no spark

You can bypass the breaker with a bolt and nut joining the leads for testing purposes. Just be sure to cover the connection with tape Based on info and pics provided by you I'd say it's a big part of your problem but possibly not the only issue

    1976 888 Fuel Questions

Yeah, that's too little water to be present at the exhaust, should see at least some at the idle relief ports as long as there's no blockage prior. The muffs are allowing a lot of water to flow past the sealing area. Make sure the water intake area the muffs seal around is clear of debris. The...

Top gimbal bearing o-ring on drive shaft sheered off?

If its the o ring closest to the u joints thats one of the two gimbal bearing o rings used as dampeners between the gimbal bearing race and splined input shaft Shearing it off isn't too big a deal but it could indicate a misaligned gimbal bearing or too large o.d. of the o rings Light grease...

Cause of alpha 1 steering freeplay discovered...(video uploaded)

I see the video link now and have watched it That is not a lot of slop, especially with the engine not running/power steering actuator disengaged. There is a bit of free play in the design of the system to allow for free movement/less risk of binding during operation and yours looks normal...

Cause of alpha 1 steering freeplay discovered...(video uploaded)

The two pins pictured post #5 are not brass unless they've been replaced. Oem is steel and I've never seen one worn to the the point of creating noticeable steering slop Most often the issue is a worn gimbal ring, steering shaft, tiller arm, or all three. Second most often cause is a worn...

MerCruiser 3.0 Runs Poorly As It Warms Up

The items suggested for inspection are "the simple stuff" I'm not saying a 3.0L can't have a warped head, anything is possible within reason. Just saying it's rare and based on OP's mentioned symptoms compression would not be close on any apt mechanic's initial troubleshooting radar
