Lake Level up ... just a tad ...

Lake level was low enough to launch. But still not normal. You can see in the parking lot how the water level was situated:

    Dock lighting and piling questions

I haven't done a dock, but on my deck I bought some cheap solar powered, motion activated, LED lights. I bought cheap ones because I wasn't sure how well they'd work. Three years later they still work great. I'd consider trying 'em on a dock.

Just thought I'd share a nice photo.

Speaking of being on the lake: we did the summer shake down cruise today. Water level is still up, but we could launch. Caught a couple of nice shots:

^^^ Way to go! Saw a couple of great fish while the tournament was wrapping up at the lake today.

Key Largo 160 CC Cockpit Drain

Those scuppers should typically be open, and when at rest should sit over the water line. Your bilge pump should handle what you're dealing with now ... but as far as rain goes a good cockpit cover would be the ticket.

    New pistol for carry

The history of the .357 is related to the .38 Special. The bullets are the same diameter, but the .357 is more powerful. Most .357 rounds a little long so they don't chamber properly in a .38 - mainly because the .38 chambers won't handle the explosion in the chamber. So, typically a .357 can...

    New pistol for carry

@WIMUSKY - I like that .38! The LCP is like that Taurus. My 9mm is a Taurus. It took me a while to get used to it, but in the long haul, I'm happy with that one.

    New pistol for carry

^^^ Yup. I think they were the M&P line up was "Military & Police." I think the idea behind the shield was a good backup piece. They used to have one called the "chief's special."

    New pistol for carry

I can't imagine it's a "bad" gun. I haven't shot the S&W or the LC9. I bought my LCP before they brought the 9mm versions out. I did check out the S&W and the LC9 later though. What I found (personally) was that I think I would still stay with the LCP. I gravitate to Rugers anyway. Sometimes...

1988 V178 Astroglass bilge and through hull connection.

Fix the leak and the pump. Even if the pump were working that's too much water inside. A day on the water, and you really only want to some drips. With people and pets swimming, or fishing going on, you maybe understand if a few cups of water drain out. But you want to solve a "large amount."

Lake Level up ... just a tad ...

Kind of amazing. Two weeks ago, Middle Tennessee got a ton of rain. I've heard reports between 7" and 10" overnight, which beats some of the reports from a single day back in 2010 when we had the flood in Downtown Nashville. But the water levels are still WAY up. one photo is my neighbors...

1988 V178 Astroglass bilge and through hull connection.

The bilge is typically along the keel all the way to the stern. Almost literally the other side of your drain plug in most cases. The pump is that bilge area. You may want to back the boat on the trailer into the water, and get a look at where the water is running in from. Find the leak, so you...

    Bow plowing at high speed.

... it's in the "maybe" column. Like I said, you're on the edge of being underpowered; but not necessarily. Different hulls react differently to that.

    Bow plowing at high speed.

Rated for a 125 and you having a 90 kinda' puts you on the edge of being slightly underpowered. She might just be kinda' "slushy."

    1977 Arrowglass Tarpon help needed!!!

A little HERE, but several years older. The '68 model had a passenger and gear capacity around 550lbs. I'd say based on loadout, your max is 4 passengers. Beautiful area there around Port Royal. I don't think I've that way in almost 20 years. I've been to Charleston quite a bit in the last...

    Bow plowing at high speed.

My Bayliner cruises better with a little up trim. It's a stern drive, but only 19.5'.

    1977 Arrowglass Tarpon help needed!!!

Welcome aboard. A little about the boat HERE. Hopefully you're not venturing out too far into the big water in that one. That hull won't do well in big swells.

    Drain Plug Size

I had a Silverline, but it was a '72. Garboard drain plug was a 1", and the T-handle type worked LOTS better than the snap-handle. Welcome aboard.
