Bravo 3 can you change gear oil line without removing lower unit?

Never add any type clamp, tie wrap, wire tie, zip tie, etc to a mercruiser transom assy gear lube monitor hose between the gimbal housing and bell housing. It makes for additional frustration for the next guy Mercury hasn't used any type clamp for the gear lube monitor passage hose for at least...

    Exhaust bellows ripped

If the exhaust bellows came with a transom reseal kit, i.e. u joint, exhaust, shift cable bellows and w/p hose, maybe assorted gaskets/o rings I'd be suspect of age Otherwise, most areas I've been acquainted to have used always oem individual parts for transom reseal, of which are readily...

Reman 383 Stroker - Low compression in rear Stbd cylinder

I mean the original engine model. You stated you replaced the long block with a different size Depending on model, specifically efi or carbureted there's a few different avenues of investigation

2013 Princecraft 164 rear access to cables wires.

Maybe it's not meant to be disassembled? Screw heads can be super buried in carpet pile, use a #1 phillips to find screws

Reman 383 Stroker - Low compression in rear Stbd cylinder

Low compression on a cylinder is bad Best to remove the head(s) and inspect What engine model is this?

Volvo Penta 5.0 Gi Beeping every 3 seconds

VDO cluster Only way to verify oil pressure and engine coolant temp is with a mechanical guage for the oil pressure and at least an ir temp gun for ect If no running issues/operation is fine I'd suspect the veracity of the instrument assembly

AC Not Working Properly After Winter

I like this idea but would recommend removing the cover on the sea strainer housing prior to removing any hoses Hopefully there's a seacock in place so OP can prevent any unnecessary bilge water collection. The A/C cooling pump is most likely alternating current electric powered (shore...

2010 4.3L TKS Thunderbolt Ignition Troubleshooting

Oem is the only way I go with t bolt ignition sensors, anything else is a gamble. Fair witness Same goes for alpha lower shift cables, can't recall an aftermarket one ever working properly

    1989 Supra TS6M 5.8 overheating exhaust

Could be, try swapping the hoses on the pump, see if that works Good way to tell if hoses are installed incorrectly is with the boat in the water look for air bubbles coming from the pickup/under the boat I was thinking on the exhaust the muffler(s) may be blocked/clogged preventing good exit...

Heat Exchanger blocked: recommendations how to flush or unclog?

What engine is this? Model/serial number? Have you inspected/replaced the sea water pump impeller?

2010 4.3L TKS Thunderbolt Ignition Troubleshooting

Ditch the aftermarket and buy oem You've already tested the ignition sensor, old and new. Ground should be placed on the same stud as battery cable ground, directly on top of the battery cable lug, i.e. no other ground terminals between the two

4.5L Water in Oil, Bent Valve, O2 Hydrolock

Yes, exclusively salt water with raw water cooling five years is average The engine pictured is not closed cooled btw You may get more by being very diligent with cleaning, flushing, using proper products to prevent corrosion and basically maintaining every aspect of the boat before issues...

4.5L Water in Oil, Bent Valve, O2 Hydrolock

6 years/250 hrs is considered normal use, maybe a touch on the light side. Running exclusively in salt water you've reached average life span of the engine. With one bent valve it's likely other valves have suffered from failing exhaust manifolds and are no longer reliable Complete repower...

Mercruiser 6.2 cracked engine block from cold

Depends on the generation of the long block. Most mercruiser 6.2 liter engines (older generation/LS) weren't used in automotive applications asfaik. You may be able to swap in a 5.7 LS long block but would have to remap the ecm Looks like michigan motorz sells some pricey 6.2 long blocks...

Bravo 3 can you change gear oil line without removing lower unit?

It can be done with everything in place but it's not fun or easy As mentioned a majority of the through transom fittings for the lube line are plastic and will break if not removed properly Seeing as how the lube line has failed I'm guessing the other rubber/maintenance items in the transom...

2010 4.3L TKS Thunderbolt Ignition Troubleshooting

Possible, not probable. Is the sensor oem or aftermarket? Is the new sensor grounded properly? Another thing to check is the shift interrupt switch. Not often a cause of no/intermittent spark but worth checking as it does affect the ignition system

Trailer Question - want to drill a new hole into the frame to move crossbar supporting wobble roller

I would move the winch stand first and see if the boat fits. Middle of aft rollers should be flush with the transom chine I think if you move the crossbar forward the rig would be too tongue light If it were my trailer I'd convert it to bunks. Roller trailers are too much hassle

    496 bravo 3 3000 RPM plus overheat

I like this. Shows a frustrating issue that can be difficult to troubleshoot properly Raw water cooling system blockages are real and annoying.
