I have converted many marine and non marine engines to electric starters. Always worth it for some people. If any of the same blocks & flywheels where used in other motors ? Piece of cake job. what is the h p of the motor ?

    Scraped bottom

I have stopped going over the boulder areas at idle speed. Every CLUNK and stalled engine is not worth it. Sometimes I have the drive locked down. Old brain.

    Vault Wheel Hubs

The ancient little trailer does not have sealed bearings or hubs. Just packed full of front wheel bearing grease. There is only the tiniest of air pockets in there. No room for rust / water.

HEAT SOAK is / can be a very destructive problem if not understood and handled correctly. If your engine is NORMALLY a smooth idleing engine all the nice weather times ? But then in hot humid weather starts to idle somewhat rough ? Gets worse the hotter it gets ? It is likely a overheated...

Sharp blades DO DO cut someone's fingers sometime. All none power tilt motors are in that class. NO need for sharp edges. Unless you race in competition events.

I can wrap the rope cord HAND start around the flywheel & it starts first or 2nd pull every time. I could see if there is a factory manual RECOIL hand pull available ? Simple enough to install.

    Add cleat to trailer?

I refuse to use long shallow ramps. Drop off the trailer & hit bottom of hull on the ramp. Use of a ..Break Neck ..trailer to struggle to get the bow started onto the trailer. Been there 2 times doing that in my long life. NEVER AGAIN I go to easier ramps. Or use waders. Or go with enough...

    Add cleat to trailer?

Roller trailers should allow 1 person to climb in the boat and let the boat roll back far enough with a bow line. To SAFELY submerge the drive water pump. Allow warmup. Walk up trailer neck. Holding the bow line. Step off trailer on to dry ground. Walk boat to the dock if available. Go park rig.

recommendations for a little starting battery or should I run long wires?

Buy and use clamp on small battery powered bow and stern lights. No wires needed.

    Scraped bottom

Just plan ahead better if you DO NOT lock it down. You CAN NOT use 1/2 or more power in REVERSE. The prop will climb right out of the water often. Pulling into docks requires locking it down in my dock.
