    Get a sonic cleaner. You run the risk of breaking something off in the orifice.

    Early 4 strks, especially early 2000s had the idles leaned out to pass emissions. The idle Jets were extremely prone to plugging and being difficult to clean. They also were leaned out to pass Emissions and that will also cause a bog.

    Stay away from the 75 Hp unless you have a light hull. The 70 hp is a much better all around motor. I also prefer the 86 and later as they are actually prop rated motors.

    Pretty Common for the 49 cid blocks to leak from the exhaust Gaskets.

    Later 9.9s came with the round tuner. Later 9.9s got everything the 15 did except the csrb.

    The 93 and later may have been. OMC never prop rated their smaller engines in the 80s

    The seal goes Between the stainless Cup and the housing. Is it pre installed? otherwise the # is 18-2030
