1976 Tom Boy Boat, 1976 40 HP Johnson Outboard and who knows what Trailer

I'd use 3" foam and 1/2 - 1" batting. Here's a drawing of how I'd do it..The interior and exterior boxing for the Outer section should be 4" to allow for stapling both on the inside and outside of the main base. Same for the Inner piece to allow for wrapping the vinyl around the base and...

es Fumed Silica is the same. The Nautical Engineers that design the boats structure have good reasons for the layout design. I'd highly recommend you build her back exactly like they designed and built her. This should be helpful for your Fuel Tank installation...

    Cutting a new transom--sterndrive-Aluminum boat.

Routers ARE a very high speed tool and they DO have a bit of learning curve. All routers when held in the working configuration of Bit Down spin in a clockwise rotation. You ALWAYS move the router into and around the wood in a COUNTERCLOCKWISE direction. The pattern bit IS one of the easiest...

Having heard several issues with members using the Tractor Paint Formula, I called the Valspar and MAJIC paint Techs and found out the ratio has been updated. It's now a 8-4-1 ratio. 8oz paint, 4oz reducer(they recommended starting @ 2oz and going to 4 if needed) and finally 1oz hardener. My...

1976 Tom Boy Boat, 1976 40 HP Johnson Outboard and who knows what Trailer

If you use the Router Table for any amount of time, I highly recommend a Dust Collection fence system. I built this one...I used MDF and Formica for the faces. I used elevator bolts instead of carriage bolts

    Larson 206 sei O/B 1999

Yup 2# foam is fine. It's jus the mold for the glass. Why do you ask? Are you cutting the stringers open? If so why? Not sure I can visualize your Transom/Hull question. Basically the lower leg is measured like this...

Welcome to iBoats!!! You're right up my alley on the upholstery. And there are a LOT of other talented "Stitchers" here too!!! For the DIY upholsterer, you can't beat the Singer 15-91 or 201 for being able to stitch through 6 layers of vinyl. They are very powerful machines. Good news is they're...

Question involving options/limitations of aluminum deck coating/waterproofing.

Poly and glass will work on a Tin Can boat floor. Not as good as epoxy and paint but it will work. Poly is not as flexible or strong as Epoxy and does have a tendency to "Check" at times but...That's usually due to improper lamination or excessive flex. With a deck this usually won't occur...
