    i went with a poly tank because i never wanted to be that deep in the boat again, it does have a slight gas smell inside boat but i have used a sniffer and although i could smell it the sniffer barely registered. and it was only for first 6 months or so

    1/2 if it required strength i doubled it use tortch and clean it and get rid of the casting oils then scuff really good and poly resin will stick as well as epoxy of course boat handles well yours is bigger so im sure it will do even better,

    my reason for stripping first is the plastic is exposed in some areas and needs to be sanded but didn't want to be sanding on plastic and paint causing more issue so figure remove paint first then will sand also my cousin whos is a body guy told me a neet trick, after sanding plastic rub down...

    tried citris strip on old piece worked great on spray bomb , takes a bit longer on the factory paint but no damage to plastic, tried a stronger one called jasco it worked very well again no damage to plastic will post pics as soon as i can :)

    already made trip to store going to try two different ones on the old cowl first see what melts it and dont , will report back findings this is a pita!

    ok this car bumper liker lower cowling has all kinda cracked and crazed paint it appears the same plastic as a car bumper i need to remove the paint on it , any ideas without me destroying it?

    yep they appear to have like a bulb down there that sits lower then the keel of boat , got mine at about 2 oclock for storage lol

    not positive but i believe your hull design was same as mine on trophy, the reason the front has a second bilge pump is because in water the hull seems to collect water there by design so it had to have separate pump also the reason we got to put nose so high on land lol

    yeah i don't not put stabilizer in any fuel i buy, cant trust that the guy filling tanks or owner is doing the right thing and rather not risk it .

    when in doubt mic it with a dial caliper hell you could even use a poor mans mic, a crescent wrench would tell you , i highly doubt its different size and still feel its alignment but ill stop beating dead horse and watch :)

    lower unit has been changed and new seals installed new water pump as well , the mid was broke i guess Yamaha had a issue with that so i replaced that and rebuilt all of it , the engine runs great besides the carb issue had one spitting fuel out of it so im going to clean rebuild all of them...

    when i did my pulpit for my trophy i ran a rubber hose to where i would mount a light , made it easy to get wire though and used arjay6011 pourable to fill it instead of wood i did do it with wood first but wasnt pleased with it so went pourable since it was alrready like a mold :)

    your problem sounds and looks exactly like mine and even the spacing i still say the oil pump and drive shaft arent aligned

    ok so rubber piece around bottom of cowling seems to have been stapled on not sure how i wanna go by removing them though

    spar varnish has flexability that epoxy dont. expoxy is also not uv resistant..

    yes it should be said oversize drill holes and fill with epoxy then redrill so the holes are sealed thats the way i did mine and i know i will never have a problem anything screwed to my wood gets oversized hole and epoxy then gets redrilled for proper screw size so it don't expand it and crack it.
