    Short shaft kicker?

Thanks Jim. Yeah…I think it’s so important. Even with a 17/18kg or 40/50 lbs of 2 stroke engine on there…lots of forces at play far out the back and trying to pull and haul at your boat.

    Short shaft kicker?

Short shaft will absolutely be perfect on that boat. As long as the bracket it perfectly mounted. And able to be raised and lowered. But unfortunately, where you will want it mounted, means that those trim tabs will be in the way. I have a bracket on my 19ft cuddy. Use a short shaft on it. I’ve...

HELP Throttle and Steering Cable Lengths

I don’t exactly. But I without doubt tell you… that it will absolutely be longer than you might guess or think. Something that’s always caught folk out over the years.

Mercury XR2 150 stuggling to get on plane.

Oh jeez. Sorry to hear/read this. Nothing worse. That plug and it’s condition, doesn’t look or tell a nice story, I’d think. Just before we all assume or conclude the worst…any pics or idea what she looks like, looking down into 3 and 4 ? On just the odd and lucky occasion, an optimistic...

    1984 yamaha 150 2stroke

99yam. Am I right in thinking that these things I’ve mentioned, are under the flywheel and not apparently obvious to some ? Maybe I’m thinking of smaller Yamaha motors

    1984 yamaha 150 2stroke

See above post from 99yam. Asking about the often forgotten pulsar coils. Have a look at them, if applicable.

    Skiing behind Scarab Jet Boat

Probably should be known that we aren’t talking about a scarab of the traditionally known type, I’d be sure. If I’m right, it’s one of the seadoo mass produced things, that someone threw scarab branding on. Powered by twin seadoo 3 cylinder jet ski engines. I’m not sure how they would get on...

First boat - 60hp Bigfoot - trim won't stay up during above no wake operation - what is normal?

Kind of depends how high the engine is. If you mean way up beyond the normal trim range and into trailer range…some engines won’t allow beyond a certain rpm. But with this era of engine and the description or mention of the engine lowering itself under load, I’d have a confident notion that...

    engine just quits

Hi. Have you checked the health of the rectified electrical system these have ? If you still have that system at all. Perhaps you have upgraded her (like most folks tend to), with the more reliable alternator modification kit.

stuck high pressure pump top of vst tank

Have you removed and taken the whole vst off the engine ?

Outfitting Klamath 18 CC with 2017 60HP CT trying to figure where to start on Prop size. Probably aluminum.

Merry Xmas to you too. You know, and maybe I know…but not exclusively and for sure…you’re dead right in the thinking that I also have… As prop pitch increases…traditional thinking might suggest that diameter reduces a little. So I was just surprised to read of a 13.anything by 16” pitch, in...

Outfitting Klamath 18 CC with 2017 60HP CT trying to figure where to start on Prop size. Probably aluminum.

It is. Up to 115hp these days. Just thought that a 13x16 would be an odd size for it. There is certainly a 16x16 that would fit it

Outfitting Klamath 18 CC with 2017 60HP CT trying to figure where to start on Prop size. Probably aluminum.

Remember it’s a CT gearbox. If it’s anything like the other CT 2.1l mercs (like my 115 version), you’ll need the larger (and better range) type props, for the larger gearbox size. I run a 19” or 20” 3 blade tempest plus or enertia on my 19ft cuddy and 115 ct. 43-45 mph at 6100/6000 rpm roughly

    Engine Overspeed?

What were the details of the mapping, if you might know. Would love to know who can do that. How did they map that ecu to have the fuelling suited to those rpm ? I thought it was only pro charger or whipple or someone like that, who could manage an adjustment to the fuelling on these. Perhaps...

    your opinion

Fair point. Not something I’m familiar with or even a common thing over here. Can only dream of such a thing ! Just presumed the guy was doing what he could with what he had currently. Over here fuel consumption versus power gain is a big deal I suppose. Along with not readily available parts...
  16. Q

    your opinion

I presumed he was using the block he had and rebuilding ? Not starting from scratch. The former being the case, it’s going to cost more than $25 different. There will be the matter of the actual “stroking” to account for, at the least.

    your opinion

Is she a Larson cabin cruiser or similar ? Or perhaps a smaller open bowrider? Either way…I’m maybe thinking or wondering if there would be any point in going down the stroker or power crazy road. Would the financial outlay and extra thirst be worth it on a cruiser ? Or would it be handled by a...

Excellent. Glad she’s sorted. Just mind and be careful with jumping things. These can be sensitive bloody things. Anyway…nice one and all the best.
