    Very very different props really. Be a total guess to answer that one. The mirage is a well outdated hugely heavy thing to swing and bettered massively by more modern props. Lots changed since the 80’s and their hay day on boats like that.

    I’d say about 250/260. A late 90’s 5.7 (presumed a vortec) with a 2 barrel was about 250, from memory. Quite strangled feeling too, I thought. Even compared to an older non vortec 4 barrel at about 260hp. If you are going to the trouble you are…I’d be tempted to look for a manifold and 4 barrel...

    Thanks Scott. As far as I know they are mechanical and double pumpers. Although I’m not certain. I know of two familiar boats with Holley carbs. One of them certainly is. Not sure exactly. The engines were new in 2015, if it helps or matches your suggested info. Great info too.

    I know the carb is a Holley 4150 600 cfm and the engine is well..:just the same as any 96” onwards mercruiser or Volvo Penta 5.7 vortec carb. But rated for up to 5000 rpm I think. Whatever the cam is in the usual engines like that is. It’s the same, I’d think. Mechanical fuel pumps running about...
