No, I work in a small repair shop.

Not my shop, I don't know what the boss is doing for warranty on this. I forgot to take a picture, but I got one side glassed today. I made more of a mess than I usually do.

Patching this Supra, the damaged has been covered up at least twice already. The hull has seperated from the fake stringers, so this really isn't fixing anything.

    Changing colour of gelcoat question

Scott will have to answer the Duratec question. We use a different product at work (patchaid, which is styrene wax). Get a price on that gel before you get too far though. Since you already have a gallon of single stage on hand, I would suggest using that if you're happy with the color.

    Changing colour of gelcoat question

To do the hull and cap, I would say you're going to want a 5 gallon bucket. Gel needs to be really thick to cure right. Think high build primer, double the thickness of each coat, and do 4 or 5 coats.

    Changing colour of gelcoat question

Because the roller up front and straps at the rear will damage the paint. You could put pads behind the rear straps though. No need for primer. The gel provides a good base, and single stage is thick enough to fill minor scratches. Just sand it all with 220 and clean it well.

    Changing colour of gelcoat question

Nope, just spray directly over the old gel. Actually, you could also paint it with either base and clear or single stage. It would be easier than gelling the whole thing, and getting gel too thick will make it more likely to crack. You can paint the top and sides, but avoid the bottom and...

    spray nozzle size for gelcoat

I have a 2.0 gun that sprays great. I haven't used Duratec, but 50/50 seems like a lot. I think @Scott Danforth has experience with it.

1989 Sea Ray 200 BR Interior rebuild and new layout

I really don't think I'm qualified to help with any structural design. Especially when the consequences of failure are someone falling through into the engine bay. I usually just fix stuff like it was before. The best I can come up with would be to offset the seat so the load is centered over a...

1989 Sea Ray 200 BR Interior rebuild and new layout

I wouldn't try to glass over the wood with OTF. I've never tried anything like it, but it will likely interfere with the bond, maybe the chemical reaction too. My thinking is OTF is meant to seal the wood and repel water, it would do the same to resin.

Some of the nicer ones have removable plastic panels around the engine. You can take the whole wall out.

    TRANSOM ISSUES!!!!

Well you can add a single layer of csm to help give it some water protection, but it won't help with water wicking into it from below the surface. If it's already too tight, you could remove some layers of plywood until you can finish it with the glass.

    TRANSOM ISSUES!!!!

The top is usually the last place to get wet, and eater will wick into dry areas. The only reliable fix is to replace the whole transom.

Throttle levers 'stiff' at higher RPM?

I'm not an engine guy, but have you tried them with the engine off? They might be binding up as they extend. That's the best I can do.
