    Yeah, a new prop or some other part could easily cost more than what the engine is worth........but considering what a new motor costs, it might be worth it.

    Marineengine.com shows the 8 HP from 1976-1979. They have the prop for the first 2 years, but not the last 2. If you run the part numbers on ebay they show some for '78 and '79. Depends on model number.

    Agreed.......If I could go back in time I would buy a brand new one (either Chrysler or Force) in a heartbeat! Except for the Hell Drive or the single carb 70 Hp........(y)

    Best to have engine all the way down when trailering, if possible. If not, support it with a transom saver or similar. With it tilted up and not supported, it puts a lot of fore and aft flexing on the transom.

    I mounted the new VR in the same spot as the original rectifier.....which is on the starter bracket which is out away from the engine block, so not directly in contact with the block heat.....which really doesn't get that hot anyway. Not sure how the rectifier on your Force 120 is mounted but...

    The factory manuals are year specific. If you can't find one for a 1976, you may be able to use one for a 1975 or 1977....maybe @jerryjerry05 or somebody could verify what years would be good to use for your 1976 if you can't find one.

    The best SHOP manuals are the ones published by the engine manufacturer. An OWNERS manual will have little if any useful info for doing repairs. The generic manuals, like Clymer and Seloc try to cover too many models/years and leave a lot to be desired. Ebay is a good source for used factory...

    Just looked on marinengine.com for 1976 6HP (63HH).....they have the impeller, housing, and other parts in stock. For parts NLA use their part numbers and look on ebay. Also, Crowley marine, boats.net, Franz marine, MasterTech, etc.... Look on ebay for a factory service manual. Would avoid...

    I think I set mine at 3P = 3 spark per rev. for a 3 cylinder motor.....might try that and see what happens. Am not near my boat right now to verify that setting but pretty sure that one is correct. You have a 2 stroke, but it's not 2 strokes per fire.......it is 3 sparks per rev (for a 3...
