    Thermostat housing hole.

Does the bowl's screws have jets ? are supposed to be simple screws with a washer. Assume you haven't removed any pilot screw (fuel/air mixture screw). Don't remove them if the carbs are not going to undergo an internal preventive maintenance. Can work that latter if plan going that route...

    Run Carb Dry or Not.-

Anyone is doubting that E8-E10 will not screw all the internal metal parts a carb works with along rubber parts such as fuel pump's diaphragms if fuel sits for too long time on them. Not to mention the carb's outside color discoloration and fuel filters as well that will experiment with E fuels...

What 15 carb fits my 9.9?

Went that route, converted a 96 Evi 9.9RED to a 15RED, besides the carb swap also had to swap the 15 Leaf Plate Assembly or Reed Valves. Their internal fuel passages are bit wider than the 9.9 ones so to stand more fuel intake from the 15 carb. Happy Boating

If the nasty stuff was not stopped at the small fuel filter definitely lays inside the carb. Open all 3 carb's bowls screws and check what comes out. Place a small container under each bowl to collect the outcoming fuel and check its condition. Report what was found. You should always flush...

    Run Carb Dry or Not.-

Don't have non E fuels any more due to being a lucrative business growing sugar cane, installing E plants and selling the by product to gasoline distributing Companies. A faster way to burn all the fuel leftovers if any inside the carb when the motor is about to die of fuel starvation is to...

    Honda BF90D Flush Port Clogged

To know the history behind the combo, owned it since new or it's a second/third hand one and previous owners have not performed a deep carb preventive maintenance which could account for fuel spills. Carbs usually have a venting hole built on the upper carb, could be located around the mixrure...

    Honda BF90D Flush Port Clogged

Is this a fresh or saltwater motor use ? Poppet valves are usually a 3 parts component, very simple to remove with the right tool and cleaned soon after, no need to change it unless shot. When the Owner's Manual says to flush through the flushing port installed with motor OFF will need to...

    Run Carb Dry or Not.-

It all depends on your boating location, boating the whole year round or juts in summer, spring in colder climates. The worst you can do to a 2 stroke Tohatsu motor is leave the entire fuel system full of fuel specially if running E blended fuels for long time periods. To avoid screwing all the...

Have you tried flushing the motor through the flushing port with a hose adapter on muffs while the motor idles ON. Or you could flush the motor OFF through the flushing port but will need to remove the thermostat and bolt thermo cap, cover back for the water to recirculate across the whole...

    Thermostat housing hole.

Some issues : Is the carb losing fuel through the throat ? happens when priming the bulb till firm or while running. I use thick grease at both gasket's sides, that way will be posible to remove the thermo any time to perform a preventive cleanig maintenance without damaging the gasket. Works...

6 HP Tohatsu 4-Stroke Driveshaft binding

Remove both lower 47 bolts, spin flywheel with hand, if nothing turns there's a huge seizure between crankshaft/drive shaft and 47. But if 47 spins freely the seizure it's between the crankshaft and the drive shaft. The upper 47 has many rubber oil seals such as 13-48 that will be difficult to...

Should you polish a Prop or not

If the hub is the outter portion where the prop shaft exits, it's the least part that will benefit from such procedure. A hull well polished and waxed will certainly benefit much more.... Happy Boating
