Okay, yeah. I had to go look at your parts. They use a relay so the compounds things. I did find some stuff though. The link is to the remote start kit for your motor. Once I found the part on line I screen shotted the switch with the colors. Take a look...

Can you give me a picture of the starter soleniod or do they have it buried in a bunch of plastic stuff?

Yes, I know. What we need is a electric start tiller motor wiring diagram and we would be set.

Typically omc tach lead was brown so right now the colors aren't even jiving with me. I don't need wire end pictures I need pictures showing where the wires go to and then I might be able to make sense of it.

Tap my picture and look, rectifier should go to hot and you can see how the starter wires go....just need to wire in a switch to activate it. So that starts it and gives you the charge wire. Do you have any pictures of the motor showing wires, starter and such?

Yes, I get it... probably should hook the low oil cut out in as well.

Okay, well without a remote you will have to adlib some kind of harness, does your engine have a common lug lime this where all your hots go to? Understanding this is half or more of your battle.

Best way to free steering cable retainer nut stuck on tilt tube shaft

Steering cables typically can fail two ways back by the motor. When you get it out, if you can, you can then determine if it's no good. I use Evinrude triple guard grease for stuff like that. If your lower unit has to come off than yes it might make it easier to move around. At the very least...

Ok, might not be the best person here but let me get you started and others will chime in. First a few questions. The wire colors you stated above are on the motor side rubber plug that goes to a remote harness, right? Let's list what you need. You can install a momentary start button on the...

Best way to free steering cable retainer nut stuck on tilt tube shaft

Yikes, some stuff I can't even understand. Top says nut is loose and down a little ways says no deal. Nut is stuck. Pretty sure where you put the vise grips does nothing. Picture would help. Even if you cut the cable you still have to deal with the nut to get a new one on so not sure how to...

Well a few questions, so your motor was not a tiller motor right? It had a remote and you really don't need it? This motor has a charging system correct? Will you be using that? Seems like more of a kicker motor. I think I can piece what wires should work for you.

50HP evintude tiller fuel connector question

Omc never went back to the 50 to 1 mix. They used the vro until they went to fuel injection. VRO was a good system.

    1970 4HP Johnson

Owned the Evinrude version....the only problem with that motor is forward gear only. You start it in gear and be prepared to go somewhere. Better as a trolling motor on say a 14 alum boat with a bigger older main motor that doesn't like to troll. Oil mix is richer on that motor too depending...

50HP evintude tiller fuel connector question

I've had 3 vro outboards from omc. Never a problem. One needed rebuilding once but the alarm went off and no engine damage. Big technological advancement when it was made and I think omc followed Yamaha on that.

Boat and motor given to me

It varys the oil ratio from 100 to 1 at idle to 50 to 1 at WOT. Really helped 2 strokes run better and cleaner on the lower rpm's. Some people removed them and mixed 50 to 1 in their tanks. Do you still have a bottle in the engine or mounted in the boat?
