"especially since this engine isn’t equipped with an oil pressure switch." have you looked on the port side of the block just above the oil filter mounting location for one?

VSR vent line full of fuel

also have good fuel pump pressures, tested wires from ECU to ECT sensor achecked TPS with Ohm meter, tried changing the pressure regulator diaphragm but that only gave 22psi fuel pressure on the high side and it wouldn't run right then not at all so I switched it back.

VSR vent line full of fuel

here's a pic of the pulse limiter that goes in a port on the TBI base, it does run rough above idle as well. not like just 1 cylinder but a miss every revolution

VSR vent line full of fuel

so it could be the pressure regulator diaphragm allowing to much fuel pressure? seems like it would force the needle to seat harder and not allow fuel past?

VSR vent line full of fuel

Hello, I have been trying to fix a problem with a fuel rich condition at idle, after installing a clear tube from the VSR vent fitting to the pulse limiter on the TBI per the service manual. I noticed raw fuel gathering in the tube, so I replaced the float and needle in the VSR and adusted the...

    over fueling at idle

I noticed in my service manual the fuel flow diagram that my set up does not use the F fitting and hose route, my vent hose goes from the VSR to the pulse limiter at the TBI and the PVC hose goes to the flame arrestor. Any idea if my set up is wrong?

    over fueling at idle

I did the clear hose test from the VSR to the pulse limiter to see if raw fuel is coming from the VSR, and after idling for a minute I started seeing fuel collecting in the hose

    over fueling at idle

yes, it's actually the original fuel metering body that I switched out with a new Volvo Penta fuel metering body that I got off Ebay years ago, since then I have bought new injectors and rebuilt kit for the old one, just looking for a OEM GM pressure regulator diaphragm for it.
