    MCM 3.7 / 190 Starter

Thx. Guess I was looking for an easier solution. Starter is fine, Stud is fubar. If I bench the starter, can stud be replaced? If not, ill order a new starter. Or perhaps the solenoid can be replaced 🤔

    MCM 3.7 / 190 Starter

Good morning. I just installed a new alternator kit. When I removed the nut off the main + lug on my starter, all the threads came off with it. Is there a quick fix for this (maybe replace the stud) without removing starter? Or am I looking at a new starter?? Thanks for any advice before I maybe...

    Oil in bellows questions…

My friend owns a boat yard in RI. He told me they work fine but they are loud. He also said they had many issues with the impeller so they install MCM impellers before they leave the yard

Just thought I'd share a nice photo.

Lol. Yes but the cruise ship is fluff, mot tough! Those cruise ships are just massive. They pull into Newport all the time. They're great to fish near in a strong wind, they flatten the sea and wind right down. Like being behind a landmass

USS Massachusetts in Fall River Mass. I go by it every time I take the boat out. It's really quite a feeling when you pull up next to it in a 21' boat. It's just massive and so strong looking!

    Best Brand Of Storage Cover???

I got mine from Empire Covers. Very happy with it, completely water proof, adjustable straps, good fit. Had it through 4 winters and not showing any signs of wear. During the summer, I have a white Sunbrella one that I had custom made.

Humidity sucks. But you can go inside, cool off, have a mudslide. You don't have to go out and shovel it! 😉

    Heat

Been hovering around 90 here in Massachusetts with extreme humidity! No complaints from me. Thats summer, and I HATE the cold! I grew up in the dry cleaning industry and owned a plant for 28 years. Hot as could be with steam in your face all day. Only thing worse would have been a foundry...

    Over-Temp alarm installation

I dont mean to "over-post on this subject, but is there any reason this wouldn't work? On at 185, off at 175°. It controlls an electric fan. I can't see any reason it needs a "marine" rating as long as its wired correctly.

    Over-Temp alarm installation

I found a 190° switch at Seaboard. I would love to have it at go off @175 - 180°, but cant seem to find one

    Over-Temp alarm installation

Yes I saw that spec. Been searching but not seeing much else out there. 175-180 would be nice. Would also be nice to find a kit where you can set what temp kicks off the alarm. I suppose 200° would be better than letting it climb even higher, may save the day

At my age, hot chicks means Cornish hens fresh out of the oven!

    Over-Temp alarm installation

So, the kit is $40 for the 2 sensors and buzzer. Cant really go wrong with that u guess. Then just wire according to your diagram. Sounds like a plan

    Over-Temp alarm installation

Interesting, easy enough. Thank you. I especially like the "Disco Ball" option. I haven't seen it offered in any kit. 🤣

    Over-Temp alarm installation

Good Morning. I want to install an overtemp alarm (audible) on my MCM 3.7 190 Finall have the motor running great after a complete rebuild. I monitor the temp and oil pressure constantly but it only takes a minute to overheat, and other than a failed elbow, this is the #1 cause of death to this...
