    Not What I Expected

Probably should just eat the picture on the box instead of the contents . . . :ROFLMAO:

    Swim platform

@Jakem Here is the link to my swim platform build. https://forums.iboats.com/threads/custom-fiberglass-extended-swim-platform.712156/ It is made of fiberglass and foam and I made a mold for the platform, much like what a boat factory would do.

Say goodbye to Glastron as you know it

Kind of like the rental car market for boats. One thing for sure is that boat prices going up over the years have pretty much prohibited the budget-buyer from owning a new boat. Boat clubs seem to be popular for those who just want to enjoy boating, but don't have the means or desire to own a...

    boat

If it was that simple the seller would probably have done that already. If the motor needs an electrical cable, then I wonder when the video was made. Perhaps the engine is not in running condition now. It may not be much of an 'opportunity'.

Getting ready for the ice and cold in central Texas!

Climate change is much like physics . . . 'What has been set in motion will remain in motion until acted upon by another force.' But fear not . . . we won't destroy the earth; it will destroy us. :ROFLMAO: I am excited about the prospects of having a deep water mooring in about 200 years . ...

1998 Crownline 202br engine compartment access

Welcome to iBoats . . . Just looking at a few pictures of those boats on the Internet . . . it is really tight. It looks like you would be taking the rear seat apart to do anything major in terms of maintenance. So, you certainly would not be buying it for its engine access. What other...

    1974 Merc 9.8 hp

I have the 7.5 HP version of that motor. I would check the throttle linkage and the timing advance linkage just to make sure all is in order. IIRC, the throttle linkage has stops (screw/nut combos) up around the flywheel housing. Maybe the high speed stop on the linkage is not set right or...

    Hey is MTboatguy still around?

MTBoatguy 's account comes up as @swill777 . . . Not sure why the difference. As you mentioned, he has not been here in a few years.

383 FWC - Strong gas smell while idling, lower compression in one cyl. Any thoughts?

If you are going to do your own diagnostic work, start by ruling things out. My thoughts . . . Gasoline leak . . . check to see if the fuel system is leaking. Low compression . . . Do a cylinder leak test to determine the source of the lower compression. General possibilities are intake...

It seems like an annual thing now . . . Frozen pipes (and you name it) in Texas.

    2024 Boston Boat Show

IDK . . . The Admiral really likes the CY 338 that we have. We'll be on our third season coming up . . . still getting the boat dialed in. The electronics on the new boats are pretty scary . . . I am wondering how many folks will want to unload those boats after a few years of ownership...

    2024 Boston Boat Show

I went to the boat show today to wander and wonder. Overall a good sized show, probably as big it has ever been. . I stopped by each of the usual suspects to see what is new and what is the same as before. Key take-aways: 1) The upholstery quality and workmanship is way up this year, pretty...

    454 information

The OP only hung around for an hour after registering and posting (so presumably they saw Scott's initial reply). So, for now there has been talk amongst ourselves. I agree a Gen6 BB would be the way to go. I've owned the Mark IV and the Gen6 . . . really liked the Gen6. Not sure how much of...

Maybe my turn for new boat time

I have few (if any) gripes about the construction quality of my boat (Cruisers Yacht) . . the thing is built like a tank. I do wish it were about 1,500 lbs lighter though . . . My main issues have been (1) the upholstery, which I knew about going in, and (2) the electrical system has been a...

Manifolds (Trying to figure out what I am looking at)

Often this type of troubleshooting becomes a process of elimination. So, you should probably check the cam shaft P/N and related spec's to either eliminate it or consider it.
