    photographs......film vs digital.

Mrs. Dingbat and I did a lot of antiquing in our younger days as well. Finding out our kids have no interest in this “old stuff”. Never thought I would have to beg family members to pass heirlooms on to the next generation

    Kicker motor vs towing

When boating, you always prepare for the worst and hope for the best. If 2’ waves are the worst Mother Nature is going to throw at you, more power to you….lol

    photographs......film vs digital.

My grandmother had half a storage unit full of pictures and slides. Most pictures she left behind were of people and places long since lost from memory. Truth being, most pictures will never see the light of day after the collage comes down after your funeral.

Problems starting after fuel filter/water separator change

You can’t prime a EFI high pressure pump with air in the system. I’ve tried many different ways of “priming” fuel systems after changing a coalescing filter. The only method that works for me most of the time is to start the motor and let it run to make sure the fuel system is fully primed...

    Kicker motor vs towing

Inshore/offshore guy If your kicker can't plane the boat, you don't have enough motor to get you safely back though the inlet. It's a lot easier with Unlimited towing insurance, up to 75 miles offshore, than totting around a 150 HP kicker, just in case.

Which you often did….lol Imagine a 67 Galaxy 500 getting 35 miles to the gallon, no component failures and still burning zero oil at 230,000 miles. The good old days where not all that long ago and where not all that good

    New Winch or Winch Strap?

Dry rot in fabric is primarily caused by fungal growth, specifically "brown rot fungi" or "cellulose fungus". This fungus thrives in damp, humid conditions and feeds on the cellulose fibers found in many fabrics. Poor ventilation, improper storage, and lack of maintenance can exacerbate the...

    Fuel System Fire

The only power in that area would have gone to the vro fuel pump. What did you do to disconnect the wires running to the pump?

    Hub weight rating

No rating on hubs per se. The bearings determine the load. Same bearing size, same load FWIW…..the seal in the tractor supply kit isn’t the best. Consider getting a higher quality seal for marine use.

    Mercruiser engines and sacrificial anodes

Diehard saltwater fisherman. My first boat was an cuddy I/O... I was told not to do it, but monetary considerations, along with a lack of patients, trumped everything else at the time. Ran the daylights out of the boat for 3 years, but the maintenance and winterization left a sour taste in my...

    2014 GMC Sierra AC

I feel your pain.........the AC in my Civic has been down since Mid-May. Fortunate in that my commute is all highway miles and the 2-80 AC still works. Broke down and drove the truck on the 100F+ days Procrastinated enough. Dropping it off at the shop Sunday Night

    Cable guard

Glad nobody was hurt….my first and only accident (age 17) was a tangle with a cable guard as well. While I currently own one, I’m not a fan of pickups in adverse conditions. The best vehicle I’ve owned for adverse conditions was a 2002 4WD Tahoe.
