    M40C Tachometer install weird readings

I use the same tach to set idle on all my small engines. Works like a charm The problem is the pulse settings are not clearly defined. Typically: 1Pr= 2 stroke 2Pr = 4 stroke Given that your running a two stroke, your only get 1 pulse per revolution, not 2 pulses as you currently have it setup

Best way to connect Hummingbird Helix 7

The current draw of your unit is 8 mA (0.8 amps). You run the 10 awg to a fuse box/block then connect the smaller wire (18 awg) from the unit to the fuse box/block using the specified 3 amp, slo-blow fuse

IBOATS site no longer has annoying garbage all over it !!!

Refuse to use a Microsoft or Google web browser. Went to Firefox long ago. Lots of free tools to block/limit cross site tracking and pop-up ads.

How many very new 4 stroke engines will be running trouble free at age 50 to 75 years old ?

That $525 price in the ad is roughly $6,000 in today’s money. Can buy a new 25hp today for half that price.

How Do You Utilize Sliding Rear Window on Your Pickup

The longest it’s been open was the time it fell out on the way to the beach. Took a week to order the materials to fix it….lol Used it twice in 6 years. Once to transport a 10’, one piece fishing rod to the beach. The other, to transport a piece of drip edge home.

    Boat Battery Questions - Cranking

For a starting battery, I would agree. Deep cycle batteries are much more robust. Reason why I switched everything except my daily driver over to Deep Cycle years ago. Replaced the last set of deep cycles (AC Delco RV) on the boat at 10 years of age as PM. It wasn't until I went to replace...

Anyone have experience with exterminating Rats?

My home state has been using contraceptives to control the White Tail deer population for the past 10 years. Not sure how well it's working. Still harvested 72,642 deer between Sept. 8, 2024 and Feb. 3, 2025

    gas from exhaust

If it is gas, on an EFI it could be the MAP sensor (controls A/F ratio) or a leaking injector(s)

Anyone have experience with exterminating Rats?

We had issues with Squirrels, rats, ground hogs, voles, moles, birds, rabbits and deer. Fenced roughly two acres around the house with invisible fence and got a Husky puppy. Problem solved…lol

    Boat Battery Questions - Cranking

Have a link to support? Be interested in the technical aspect of this claim Kind of a moot point given nobody makes a “true” acid deep cycle anymore.

Sad Day For the SS United States

Sounds awful shallow for a boat that is a 175 ft. tall from keel to top of stacks unless it’s laying on it’s side or the stacks are remove prior to sinking

    Cabin Fever outbreak.

Two of great pleasures in life when you don’t have neighbors……peeing out doors (conserves water) and skinny dipping in the back yard pool.

    Required Safety Course

If you ever boat down here, make sure you have your paperwork and equipment in good order before leaving the dock. Between DNR, USCG, Marine Police and Homeland Security, it’s not if, it’s when you will be boarded for inspection. The only way (mostly) to avoid scrutiny is to display a valid...
