    Volvo penta stalling help

Just going back through this issue . . . you said it has been happening for a couple of years now. Was there something back then that may have caused it. Did it come on suddenly or gradually? both engines showing symptoms at the same time or one, then the other? Was there maintence done...

Does VP go nuts on revisons and models vs. Mercrusier?

I have noticed a fair amount of parts superseding original parts on the Mercruisers I have owned. Not a big deal, as usually the original part is NLA and it prompts you to look up the current part. I could have gotten VP 350's in the boat I bought last year, but did not want to go through the...

    Fishing boat with cabin.

I think Pursuit has/had a model or 2 that give you the features of a Center Console but also has a small cuddy in the middle.

    2005 Tahoe Q6 (5.0 MPI) Won't Turnover

The CB's should not show any appreciable voltage loss. Are you finding the 7.5 volts further down the line of the red/ppl wire?

    Fishing with Dad

A real memory keeper. Thanks for sharing. My folks passed 8 years ago - we keep their memory alive at the summer house. That 1972 Merc may not like salt water so much, since I believe the drive shafts weren't SS 'til the late 1970's. Probably an easy swap if you can find a stainless drive shaft.

    Finally rain in Central Texas!

Here on Cape Cod we finally got some rain today as well. It rained buckets for over an hour. Of course I had just finished a brake job on the Bimmer right before the rain hit. Texas always seems to be flooding and then drying up. Still no rain for California (right?) @ezbtr (y) your vehicles.

    Find us the right boat

The flatter hulls won't lean as much, but they won't handle choppy waters well at all. You can always shift weight around the boat to get it as well balanced as possible. My 24 ft Formula (242SS) leaned about 2" to one side at rest. I added some weight to the other side to get it to sit more...

    Find us the right boat

'List' as in lean to one side? If so, V hulls will tend to favor one side or the other. Narrower the beam, the more noticeable it will be.

    Hole shot, or up easy?

Even with skiers, I tended to increase the throttle to the desired 'full' range in about 1-2 seconds. When not doing water sports I usually let the boat get going a bit at one throttle setting and continually increase throttle as the boat accelerates. Pehaps it is because I have larger boats...

    2005 Rinker Captiva 192 - should I stay away

The actual condition of the boat is the most important factor. I'm not a Rinker fan, but they do have some nice layouts. Since the boat is 17 years old, check for structural issues - transom and stringers which usually can be viewed to a great extent in the engine bay. When you go look at...

    Stain removal on cushions

The seats are probably not naugahyde but is sounds like you have done what you can to remove the stains. There is a 'magic eraser' product for marine use. Maybe something like that used sparingly.

    Bought a rotted boat

Greetings . . . Few if anyone will tell you it is 'OK' to use a boat with a compromised transom and structure. Your issue is where you go from here. . . Fix the boat or junk it? Post some pictures for further guidance.

    Wood rot HELP

@EddieF17 . . . keep in mind that the top of the stringers (engine bay or otherwise) will be relatively dry. The bottom portion of them, closest to the hull, is what matters. You can test with a $40 moisture meter and a couple of test holes in the glassing of the stringers. Patch the holes...

    Causes for concern?

Chip in the gelcoat . . . best to fix before getting the boat wet. gelcoat repair kit will do the trick 2/10 scale for dificulty. Is that the exhaust bellows we are looking at? If so how does the drive shaft bellows look and possibly the shift cable bellows, if there is one?

    Need advice

So, which one of their (Promar) engines should you have ordered? I assume it is one of their catalog'd engines? Is the price that much different? Are they wanting shipping fees in that amount? Did you pay shipping to return?

Yes. @Scott Danforth has a CY Rogue, but I think it is newer than 1986.
