    Docking outboard stern to dock

No anchor . . . bad idea  What is there to tie dock lines to? just the stern?

1990 ish Evinrude 25 HP - Screeching from the controls

Quick Update, while the boat was sitting at the dock today with the engine idling, the alarm went off. At higher RPMs it is fine. So, looks like an impeller replacement is in the engine's near future

    Marine Surveyor Wanted

SAMS or NAMS websites to search for a marine surveyor in your area. Usually the surveyors will have leads for mechanical inspectors, if they aren't already working with such. You can google their names to see if there are any reviews of their work on boating forums.

    Solar Power Installation . . .

Gremlins are gone now that I’ve connected the house battery and the inverter batteries together.

    Anchor stuck for 2nd time

It seems like it happens with lake boating since there can be so many obstacles on the lake bottom. I assume that you will see if you can get the anchor to 'spin around' by pulling it in the opposite direction that it was set.

    Simple Wiring Diagram

If they are all hooked up to the same switch, then you would not have the anchor only option, but it may not be an issue for your boat and its usage.

The white light is the stern light, and often the anchor light is used for the same purpose.

    Solar Power Installation . . .

Quick Update: I’ve been away from the boat for about 10 days. The solar charging system and the 7 batteries were sitting at 14.0 volts when I checked on the boat today 😀. It’s really nice not having to worry about depleted batteries when you are away for a while. Now, if I can just get the...

    Engine running 🔥

No . . . the Bravo will suck water out of the hose if it needs to. You can certainly run at idle speeds on the hose/muffs and even up to about 1200 RPM with no worries. I've been running them on the hose for about 18 years and 3 different boats with Bravo's Be careful what you are told.

Concerned about Hull Config / Cramped Engine Bay

You probably need to be buying a bigger boat to get more engine bay space. Don't worry about extra labor from a mechanic, they are going to charge you for more hours than it actually took anyway 🤪

    2003 Chaparral 230ssi - Rotted Foredeck Question

I can't get over the exposed wood that I see in the guts of Chaparral boats. (as can be seen in the video). Maybe that lets the wood get rid of its moisture, as opposed to encapsulated wood, but there must be a better way. I was thinking of buying a 327 SSX, but the cabin design was n ot...

    Cabin Light Replacement Signature 310

How many Chaparral owners does it take to screw in a light bulb . . . j/k :ROFLMAO: See if you can get the flange of the light fixture to turn about 1/8 of a turn (can't remember which way though) The flange should release and you will have access to the bulb. If you merely pry the flange...

1986 Four Winns Santara Touch-Up Paint

No . . . :ROFLMAO: How do you know it is paint? Might be gelcoat. How faded is the boat from the original color? Your best bet would be to try to do a color match, either a paint or gelcoat. Here is a link to a website, looks like automotive paint, but it might have something. Keep in...

    Bravo3 lower unit casing replacement

The casing is trashed. I am wondering if it may be easier all around to just buy a used outdrive? How does the upper unit look?

    Timing for 1990 liberator 221 w/454

There are a few threads here on iBoats about the Spitfire EEM, so maybe take a look at those threads. I would think the base timing would be the same as for most/all 454's (8˚ BTDC) . . . but who knows. My roller cam 454's (gen 6) were 8˚ . . . same as my older 454.

HF 1.5w Solar Panel for trickle charge dual battery system?

Battery isolation is so that the batteries are not joined by the single solar panel. It is fairly common to have isolators with shore power or solar where a single voltage source is charging several batteries that need to be independent, unless joined by other means (battery switch, etc)

    Bravo3 lower unit casing replacement

Special tools and outdrive service manual. Else, you will probably fail.

Sharing fresh water intake from one engine to a second engine

Thanks for asking the question . . . My comments. The Port outdrive impeller is probably worn, but not highly damaged, so it is able to pump sufficient water when the RPM's are up and the boat is at speed. Some truth to the idea that the pressure around the outdrive while at cruising speed is...

HF 1.5w Solar Panel for trickle charge dual battery system?

For a single or dual battery set-up, and just maintaining the batteries, not really charging them up, I would go about 15 watts. You may only get about 60% of the panel rating, as you will want a solar charging regulator. Many trickle chargers (battery maintainers) are about 400ma. That's...
