Mercruiser Catalyst Manifolds are Lifetime / No replacement necessary

My new-2-me boat has CATS (sometimes it will have dogs too :ROFLMAO: ). I should take a picture of the exhaust today. Nothing posted so far looks like them. Model year 2016.

Re-upholstery Job on Cruisers Yacht 338 Bowrider

I am onto the helm seats. . . Up first is the 4 armrests ( 2 for each seat) The armrests have a bunch of velcro on the back portion to provide access for installing the skin and fastening the hardware. . . Here is the first armrest . . . I had to adjust the stitching as initially it was too...

Re-upholstery Job on Cruisers Yacht 338 Bowrider

Here is the port sidewall cushion for the bow. I added another red racing stripe, so the boat should go even faster than with just one stripe :ROFLMAO: . . That wraps it up pretty much for the bases and backrests . . . Next up is the helm seats which will be a whole lot of 'fun' 🤪

    Rec gas prices???

Exactly, that is how most of us look at it . . . usage is fixed and nothing can be done about it. In the short term, maybe so. In the longer term maybe not. BTW - In my almost weekly driving to the summer house, I reduced my fuel consumption by about 30% in response to the higher gasoline prices.

    Rec gas prices???

Situations like this should remind us that each of us can be financially vulnerable if we have a high consumption (usage) of fuel. There is the 'price' of fuel and the 'cost' of fuel. Cost = Price x Usage. As prices go up, as they can/will, usage is the only thing that individuals can...

Thinking of upgrading to Sea Ray 210BR

There is a trim limit function that prevents the outdrive from being raised too much by the trim switch. There are sensors on the outdrive that make the trim limit function work, as well as the trim gauge itself. Chances are that the wires are frayed on the trim limit sensor. The trailer...

Thinking of upgrading to Sea Ray 210BR

Looks like a fiberglass liner for the storage bay. Floor itself looks like carpeted plywood. Usually if the floor is completely fiberglass it is not carpeted and has a snap-in carpet

Engine Hatch opening with failed actuator

Some are set-up that there is play in the lifting strut, so you can reach in and pull the pin. Others are set up with a small access hatch so you can pull the pin. Others . . SOL.

Is it worth replacing my transom here? (I have NEVER done fiber glass repair)

Is it worth replacing the transom here? Yes . . . Here, there, or anywhere It doesn't really matter. :ROFLMAO: It looks very much like wood, but pictures can be deceiving. If you want to keep the boat alive, then yes. $4K is pricey, and I'm sure you can do a decent job for a whole lot...

    2008 Regal 1900 issue

What @Scott Danforth said . . . Maintenance? Fuel? The boat is 14 years old . . . Since you know the person that sold it to you, do you know any history of the boat?

    Rec gas prices???

I know . . . commodity prices for oil and gasoline spiked up and then dropped just as quickly. It might take some time to see retail pricing to come back down as well. If 'we' could reduce our demand for gasoline by 10-15%, it could go a long way on the demand side of things. I would think...

Mercruiser Catalyst Manifolds are Lifetime / No replacement necessary

I have twin 2016 Mercruiser 6.2L engines (with CAT's) on my new-to-me boat. The engine block and exhaust manifolds are closed cooled (coolant). So it is just the risers that I need to be concerned with. Perhaps I will check them in a year or 2 to see how they are holding up in the salt water...

Transom replacement- need glassing advice (caution - fun inside)

Yes, I have the Consew 206RB-4. I bought it used of $500 a few years ago. It is probably second best to the Juki 1541 or 1508 machines. I also switched it over to a servo (DC) motor and did a 3:1 pulley reduction. I can slow it down to do a single stitch about every 3 seconds if I want to...

Thinking of upgrading to Sea Ray 210BR

If you reference Frisco's thread on his rebuild, you'll know where the structural pieces (stringers, bulkheads, etc) are located for when you go take another look. The boat could be fine, but you really need to check, as there is no telling if it is otherwise.
