Re-upholstery Job on Cruisers Yacht 338 Bowrider

I completed some of the sidewall trim this AM. The original was GRAY, but I am going with the RED to accent a few things. . . There are a couple more sidewall pieces that are in the DARK GRAY - same as the instrument panel coping, and will remain so on the re-make. . . Those pieces currently...

Re-upholstery Job on Cruisers Yacht 338 Bowrider

Quick Update . . . I got the backing off of the helm seat without incident. (5 hidden fasteners) I finished my first piece . . . This is the coping trim for the instrument panel. To the left in the picture is the original skin with a 'faux' french seam. I first made one that was similar...

Can you search DMV records for a particular car

Who owns what car is personal information . . . which means it is protected from access by others. I don't think you are going to get what you are looking for. . . because it is personal information.

    Winter Storage/Cover with Radar Arch . . .

Today, we are getting about 3" of snow load . . . not too bad.

    Winter Storage/Cover with Radar Arch . . .

Looks/feels to be fiberglass . . . not sure if there is any internal framework. It has about 4-5 ft. of forward pitch to it and maybe 12" of attachment point towards the rear seating. Thus, the concern that the geometry begets a 5:1 torque ratio on the mounting area. I know many boats made in...

Question about LU rebuild + getting ripped off on sale.

Sounds like the deal, if there was any, has gone sour. Move on to the next deal with a fix LU. It will make for a much easier sale.

    Moisture meters & used boats

Most surveyors use the Tramex Skipper Plus to detect moisture in/thru fiberglass. ($500 ish) The meter you mentioned is for building materials and may not give the right sort of results as the Tramex. If you can get some direct contact to wood (which is possible on some boats with only a...

What foam to use to build a fiberglass cooler?

More like guesstimate . . . but I generally go by how much cloth is going to be used and the thickness of it to get an approximate volume figure. Then factor resin at about 50% of that volume. Then convert cu. in. (cu. ft) to gallons.

Re-upholstery Job on Cruisers Yacht 338 Bowrider

Keith was out on LOA (illness ?) and I'm not sure he is back yet. I've been working with a couple of other folks in customer support.

What foam to use to build a fiberglass cooler?

My 'local' guy (90 minutes away) is up to $78/gallon for VE. Lists Poly at $38, and EEEEPoxy at $100 . . . 2-3 years ago, I was getting VE for $50-60/gallon from him. Ordering online also adds shipping and sometimes 'hazmat' costs.

Re-upholstery Job on Cruisers Yacht 338 Bowrider

Quick update . . . I sent the red vinyl panels out to the embroidery house to get embroidered. I've taken one of the helm seats out, but could not figure out how to get the backrest portion of the seat apart. So, I've been in contact with Cruisers Yacht tech support about how to disassemble...

4.3 engine mounted raw water pump inquiry

Not sure an engine mounted pump would solve your problem, as they too can/do have impeller failures.

What foam to use to build a fiberglass cooler?

Aircraftspruce also has a product called 'last-a-foam' which is resin compatible and is lower in price. (at least it was 2 years ago) Not sure you want to use a cross member as it may be too obstructive vs. having ribs. The lip to support the cover if made large enough could also be a rib to...

What foam to use to build a fiberglass cooler?

Your cooler/live well is going to hold about 280 lbs. of water if full. You might want to plan a rib around the inside of the 'tub' at about half of the height for added strength. The building supply store insulation may not be the best thing to use, because they often have a moisture barrier...

Shipping a Boat Across the Country

You might want to consult a few shiiping/trucking folks on that question. Having a trailer under the boat will add a couple of feet in height, which may be a problem, depending on how 'high' the boat is to begin with. Also, not having a trailer may open things up for boat haulers that have...

What foam to use to build a fiberglass cooler?

It's a cooler . . . how strong does it need to be? Not sure you will notice a difference. If I were me, I'd go with urethane foam and poly resin. Urethane foam sheets will be more expensive, but poly resin will be less expensive (than epoxy). Biaxial fiberglass cloth (like 1708) will be good...

What foam to use to build a fiberglass cooler?

Urethane foam if you are using polyester resin with your fiberglass Urethane foam or Styrene foam if you are using epoxy resin with your fiberglass. Polyester resin and Styrene foam just don't seem to get along, even if you have latex paint as a referee.
