    Big washers or plate would be the ticket on the back side of the eye . Just don’t over size the hole too much . Just enough that you can redrill and remain sealed with filler . Your painting so would think epoxy be fine . Maybe chop a little fibers if you want but probably not necessary...

    Every little thing is an accomplishment LOL ! A washer ground down to fit . 53 cents . HF puller and a lot of heat and pb blaster .. A few choice words and that tapered bearing finally gave up .. LOL !
