    let the motor warm up a bit IE: idle , and see if the pressure comes down before jumping to conclusions of something bad being wrong. it most likely will be fin once the oil thins a bit and circulates.

    osmosis is not the end of the world for a hull , usually its just in the gel coat. it can be sanded back and painted or some brush on waxed gel coat depending on where it is , in your case some brushed gel coat will do just fine or just be left alone..

    is the drive oil reservoir full ?. try taking the reservoir off and flushing it , the float sensor may be sticking. reason i mention is mine random beeped and a sticking float was the issue.

    buy some new ignition parts , points, cap , rotor , coil and condenser ( i know you posted these have been replaced but start again anyway). if you have a ballast resistor replace that to. I'm guessing the points are cooked "but " a condenser or coil will give similar symptoms.

    something going on there with that dizzy that don't look right , can you try to post a pic or vid of where the moving originates from. you may need to remove the dizzy to inspect this will mean it needs to be clocked again , that is no problem because you will know everything is correct.

    my Mercruiser 5.7 sounds better :) .it is however 500hp , i get plenty of comments on how good it sounds @6800 rpm. occasional whine from someone about it being annoying , but hey :) you cant please everyone . i just tried to upload a vid but apparently file is too big ,so just a pic for now.

    i know is is an expensive exercise to have someone come out to scan the engine , however its your choice to parts cannon the motor or have it scanned and fixed once and for all . fuel injected motors are very hard to diagnose without a scan tool and as far as i know there is no cost effective...

    i would start by changing the distributor cap , while you are in there check the cam sensor , if its not that expensive replace it , those two things can be questionable at the best of times , although the cam sensor usually just dies and gives no readings they have been known to cause erratic...
