    the oil pump and the crankshaft are independent of one and other , if the shaft fits the oil pump which it appears it does ? then it should fit the crankshaft . clicking the motor whilst pushing upward on the drive once the oil pump is engaged it should locate the splines to the crankshaft...

    change the spark plugs , leads , distributor cap and rotor , if its points change them and the condenser as well. guessing plugs , but i usually change out all the above just as preventive maintenance.

    i think any modern paint impervious to fuel is going to be more hazardous to eat than a few specks of 60 year old lead paint. personally i would educate the kids not to eat fuel tanks.🍿
