20 foot 1997 Maxum 2050 bowrider propeller question

I run a fuel monitoring system. Water conditions (flat vs rough) has a bigger effect on fuel usage than anything else. Reduced my fuel consumption by 10% going from a 14.25 x 17, 4 blade to a 15 x 15, 3 blade

2013 150hp Evinrude etec vs 150 hp Yamaha

Your missing the part about adding $35 of oil to every 50 gallons of fuel Evinrude (BRP) is out of the outboard business. The motor no longer supported by the manufacturer

PSA, triple check your electrical connections anyways.

Step number 1- confirm you have the proper voltage at every touch point in the circuit while the circuit is under load.

Can someone review my boat wiring diagram?

Are your sure about the wiring of the bilge pump? Your diagram has it powered all the time what is up with the two accessory boxes? https://d2pyqm2yd3fw2i.cloudfront.net/files/resources/instructions/990170140.pdf

    Sanpan Pontoon Electrical Issue

Doesn’t act like a grounding issue. Ground wouldn’t activate circuits that are off. Guessing you have power feeding back through ground. Pull the fuse for the bilge pump and see if the problem goes away

    Breaker

Are the breakers in your home at the source (breaker box) or supply (wall socket)? Breakers trip on downstream faults. Without the fuse on the battery that wire could ground and burn w/o tripping the breaker. The breaker protects the wire from the breaker to the panel The head scratcher is the...

    Interpreting Hypervision Sonar Images

The sonar "beam" is sound. You can't see it. The yellow line is a software "feature". Educated guess...........the black blotches are where the computer for one reason or another is having issues interrupting the sonar returns or applying a software "feature" so the pixel(s) are blank. The...

    New Tahoe boats quality

Still rather small for a 21’ boat. Would expect to see 175 to 225HP on a well powered 21’ boat Then again, how is the boat being measured? Measured at the water line or overall length? Sitting side by side, my 22’ boat (22’-6”) is as long as most boats marketed as 24’ long.

    Parasitic Battery Drain

Obviously someone circumvented the switch and wired something directly to the battery, or........... Are you sure about the current draw readings? A 10 mA load over 24 hours = 0.24 amps per day. 0.24 amps per day x 21 days (3 weeks) = 5 amps If a 5 amp draw over 3 weeks is killing your...

85 merc 200 black max overheat alert

Running over thermostat temps sounds suspicious but can’t confirm since mine didn’t have a temp gauge, only pressure What water pressure are you running at idle and WOT?

    Prop shaft run out spec?

My prop shaft has the typical in and out movement but no discernible side to side play or run out. No such thing as a tolerance of zero. Guessing 0.003 to 0.005" max.

85 merc 200 black max overheat alert

If I remember correctly the thermostats for that motor are 143 degrees. Either your stat(s) are stuck, your temp sensor is bad or the wiring is damaged or loose.

    Battery Switch question

The short answer....I don't need a "pump" to get back to the dock. Why no pumps? Your kidding yourself if you think a bilge pump will keep you afloat with a hull breech. In times of trouble, power would best be used to extend the life of the VHF to call for help. In reality, my biggest...

Was wondering if this is any good "Seachoice 15 foot outriggers"

Outriggers where designed for top water fishing. Typically used to pull a "spread" teasers, and baits out and away from the boat in an attempt to attract then entice the fish to come to the surface to feed. I used outriggers to troll two additional large parachute baits (up to 8 oz.) per side...

Was wondering if this is any good "Seachoice 15 foot outriggers"

Depends on how you plan to use them. My boat came with a set gunnel mtg. 15’ aluminum outrigger poles. Used them for a couple seasons and they have laid out in the barn ever since. Too light for offshore work. Use triple board planers Striper fishing.
