    Fishfinder help...

Not a fan of Humminbird for a number reasons. Careful when comparing vendors for the Garmin unit. Different packages contain different transducers. You want a GT54 transducer if possible

    Random

The question is not how accurate the gauge is, but how accurate does the gauge need to be since the sensors don't actually measure tire pressure? The sensors are looking for a differential between “stored” and “measured” values. Storage mode: If the pressure is below 1.5 bar (21.75 psi)...

Suspect the "spring" is getting worn in your unit. Have you tried to adjust it?

    Flywheel material?

One would assume cast steel... but I see lots of comments about cracking. Pretty tuff to crack cast steel. Either way, pretty sure nothing good can come from rotating a #25 unbalanced flywheel at 5000 rpm

Gathering Components for adding GPS to Older VHF

Ok....here is the manual for plotter https://www.furunousa.com/-/media/sites/furuno/document_library/documents/manuals/public_manuals/gp1670f_1870f_operators_manual_ver_f.pdf Bottom line...the two units are not compatible from a communications standpoint. The plotter doesn’t support NMEA 0183...

Mariner Center Console rod holder inserts?

Looks and sounds (dim wise) more like cup than rod holders. Could have simply had edge molding in the inside or perhaps even a trim ring

    Running spare hot wires....

Internet parroting of old wives tales. Been using individually shielded wire cable on transducers for years. 95% of the time, “noise” is the result of poorly designed electronics, maintenance related issues or deficiencies in the installation of the unit. Buy a well engineered, good quality...

Question about Trolling Motor Plug and Receptacle

Goggle - pcb conformal coating spray for your options We send our PCB out to be dip coated. No real experience with spray on coatings. Got to be better than nothing. Maybe replace with "Riptide" controller next time

Question about Trolling Motor Plug and Receptacle

What model trolling motor? From what I can tell, the "Riptide" Series is the only model "optimized" (power coat and sealed control PCB) for marine use. The recommended plug for "marine use" is https://minnkotamotors.johnsonoutdoors.com/accessories/trolling-motor/plug-receptacle-mkr-26 There...

Question about Trolling Motor Plug and Receptacle

The problem isn’t salt water.......the problem is (junk) connectors and or wiring not designed for saltwater use. If you have SW compatiable components, you have a grounding issue

Gathering Components for adding GPS to Older VHF

Can’t get anymore direct than using the existing NMEA connections. If you can’t get your head around splicing the pigtail I posted above to the NMEA wires coming out of the back of the plotter, don't know what to tell you. Your turning a mole hill into a mountain range....

So, what did you do today?

IMHO Prefinished or Engineered flooring is terrible at any price. SIL whines about her "wood" floor getting wet or the dog scratching it all the time. Had 2" red oak in the last house. Random width, wide plank pine in this one. Floors where installed when the house was built in 1978 and...

Yep....or you can buy the cheap ones that rust and look like krap in 10 months for $12 each.

Gathering Components for adding GPS to Older VHF

Both are older, discontinued units. Neither unit is NMEA 2000 compliant. No short cuts here. Need to use NMEA 0183 connections. Solder RCA connector to Tx and Rx (NMEA 0183) connections on plotter Don’t remember if you need a male or female RCA but this is what you need...
