Anyone tried one of these boats?

Somebody from the US North West probably could explain the rocking chair design of the boats used on those rivers. That's the only place I have seen them.

    No power to ignition switch

So is it the solenoid or the power to it? Get across the small terminals on the solenoid and flip the switch. If you get no 12v you have a supply problem. If you get 12v time for a new solenoid. Some times I have bypassed the solenoid to ensure that its the problem, being internal or supply...

    No power to ignition switch

If I am picking up correctly on this, its not your lack of power to the ign switch, its the fact that when you roll it over to the start position nothing happens but you hear a "click"??????? The click is probably the solenoid switch which is located close to the starter and usually contains...

    Sacrificial Aluminum Prop

Quick "lugging" test is when you hit the throttle and not much happens. Proper gear ratio (prop is a big part of that) delivers quick response to throttle changes. Now, back to the what's your WOT RPM and your max engine rated RPM under your most frequent load (what's in the boat) conditions.

    Transducer on aluminum v-hull

PIRANHA MAX 4 from Hummingbird is what I use that works fine for me and at around a hundred bucks, no big drain on the wallet.

    Props?

A 4 blade of the same pitch and design would drop your RPMs slightly and give you a better hole shot...you could drop an inch in pitch too and you should still be in the upper part of the recommended RPM range. Changing prop styles and doing the above usually changes more things than you...

    Transducer on aluminum v-hull

I mount mine inside near the centerline, just in front of the transom. Have done this for many years on aluminum boats. The transducer operates on sound waves and the aluminum conducts them very well, maybe better than mounting outside. I use a rigid epoxy and eliminate as many bubbles as...

    New Fuel Line Size

I used the Quicksilver diamond shaped bulb for many years and its performance was stellar. Several years ago I bought another boat and had quite a bit of rework to do and part of that was the OEM bulb and about 3' of hose in a package for a sizzling $35.00. I couldn't believe it. After trying...

    1991 90HP Mercury not starting

Since it is a 2 stroker, lubricated by the fuel mixture, the general recommendation on here is to use a spray containing some lubricating oil.....like Sea Foam, or Starting Fluid that contains a light lube....indicated in the printing on the can. Over the years I have seen SF used quite often...

    Airboats (swamp boats)

Maybe the Dept. of the Interior would cover the rules for the intranational waterway since it runs from our Southern border to well up in the North.....one set of rules for the entire system due to what it is....don't remember the extent of the upper end as I only worked the Southern portions...

    Prop inconsistently spinning in neutral?

My Mercury manual for 3 and 4 cylinder 2 strokers states that below 120 PSI expect problems. You aren't that far off so if you had a problem I wouldn't expect it to be a game changer.

Out to lunch Gear Oil Prices

I just bought the gallon sized Rotella T-6 5w-40 full syn. at wallyworld for $26 and some change. Pennzoil in the quart was reasonable....forget the number as I have plenty in stock. On automotive oils, I have started using wallyworld full syn. which now carries the GM Delos or ros or however...

    Just curious

Sounds like things around here minus the concession stands and live music. My closest lake is a Govt. lake and the local sheriff and Park Patrol keep things pretty much in order.

    Just curious

Well I typed this just now and the software chose to delete it as I hadn't had a title posted. Will try again......... Just curious.....any problems that you never had to encounter before when going fishing or water sport activities by someone annoying you or your equipment at the ramp/parking...

    Just curious

With all the "stuff" going on these days anybody having any problems going to the launching ramp and all associated with that....people not associated with the fishing/sport fun activities.......problems while trying to launch or retrieving your boat, problems with your vehicle or trailer that...

What does this marking mean on this new to me outdrive?

I agree that whomever removed it and put it on the shelf marked the turns ratio for later buyer to ID. 1.5:1 is a pretty high gear ratio recalling something like 1.68 up to 2.0 (distant memory) in sales brochures. It'd have to be on a fast boat or a prop with a very shallow pitch. (opinion)

    Stand cranking 90 hp merc.

I don't have a wiring diagram handy, but the control box ignition switch produces "switched 12v" when the key is in the ON or Start positions. Switched 12v is on the purple or red/purple stripe wire where its used, whereas raw 12v is on the red wire. Check the engine side of the 8 pin wiring...

Got a new toy to test out eventually...

I see a lot of "rake" (blades bent back from the root) which is incorporated in props that run fast on light boats....fast bass boats.....designed to lift the bow at the higher speeds. A cruising prop has little to no rake, blades basically straight out from the root. This type of rake is for...

Outfitting Klamath 18 CC with 2017 60HP CT trying to figure where to start on Prop size. Probably aluminum.

I guess I was somewhat narrow minded on thinking that the CT would only be the next size up gearbox....never thought they might up it a notch and make some engines with the 150+ gear case which would allow for the 14+ diameter wheels . Your numbers are as you say, quite impressive. Nice chat!
