    i have a 1975 40 johnson. it will start up and then act liike it is not running on both cylinders all the time. when it misses the motor shakes and shoots water out forceably of where it is supposed to come out (i cant remember what it is called) and then striaghtens up then it does it again...

    it will run for about 10 second at a good idle then it spits and sputters and stalls out i have tried adjusting the low speed and that doesnt help.

    took the boat out for the first time this year after rewiring the motor and putting new coils on it. from the hole shot it was sluggish and it didnt seem to run very fast. is there any adjustment that have to be made when new coils get put on the motor. by the way the motor ran smooth at low idle.

    antifouling paint

    i painted the bottom of my boat with anitfouling paint. my question is do i need to do the same to the motor its an outboard. this year the boat will be in the water for alittle over a week. and im hoping next year it will be all season.

    the metal trim on the slashwell

    my boat had metal trim the lined the cutout of the splashwell and the motor sat on it do i need to put that back on. or could i put the motor on the fiberglass. im thinking it is to protect the glass from the motor. so if it is i could use alittle peice and set the motor on it right.

    i know it would probably be cheaper to get the hull that you want instead of redoing one. but im just wondering. i was fixing a hole in my hull and while i was laying on the ground looking at the hole. i was wondeing if anybody has ever made a tri hull into a V hull and how hard would it be to do.

    quick question

    i repaired the hole in my fiberglass hull from the in side now i want to repair it from the outsideshould i grind all the gell coat down to the fiberglass before laying more glass over the spot. it is preety much fixed i just want to put some cloth over it to smooth it out and fill in the voids.
