Looking at 1990 Bayliner, need advice

Going to be almost the same , parts and correct tools along with having a clue to rebuilding will have you dropping it off a rebuilders , back to 3,000 , for starters and your not even into the outdrive and what issues that might have.

Additional sound signals for electric boats?

Like sailors ever overtake any vessel while under sail power. So electric cars have warning horns because people can only see them and not hear them , hahaha. Moving on from your argumentative post as your not going to be satisfied with any logical answer.

Additional sound signals for electric boats?

As noted you are over reaching or just looking to argue with people. Sail boats have the same rules and regulations as power boats. Including all noise emitting devices. Sail boaters need horns and noise makers so they can sail through a bunch of boat trolling for fish holding course even though...

    Prop hub slipping?

^ or make a mark from the outside of the hub to the inner making sure you make contact with everything, a yellow or white marking pen from a auto parts store works great as they have a fine point. After your done for the day or after you put it through its paces check the line.

    MONARK SUNCASTER 240, HIN number?

Your HIN is in the middle photo. Last 2 digits are the year , in your case it's 95 or 1995. The paperwork is wrong , maybe that number she gave you is for the trailer , it's not for the boat.

    1996 Trophy Bayliner - Inspection?

No link . There is a 1995 with a 2002 150 on it in Rochester NY for 7,000. That boat looks like there shouldn't be a soft deck or even below deck wood issues, unless screw ,bolt holes are compromised. Your dollar your call.

    1996 Trophy Bayliner - Inspection?

OP stated it was a outboard. Not sure if it's the same year as boat. That could make a difference if mounting holes are different and they were not caulked correctly. Could be 100 % perfect or not.

    1996 Trophy Bayliner - Inspection?

" Bad bedding " or the caulk around the through hull fittings. All decking solid , under gunwales ( flat surface that your rod holders are inserted into ) solid , you can stand on the lower unit of motor and bounce a bit to see if there is any flex in your transom . Passed the water test , throw...

Courtesy lights to LED. Dropped the wires for one light.

Does the storage compartment in front of the sink come out ? That's may be your only shot at retrieving the wires unless you drill a access plate hole and put one in, which isn't a bad idea with or without the wiring issue.

    Proof of value

As noted. boat is worth around 500 + motor value and if it's the same vintage figure 250. Survey is a waste of money for that boat. Allstate did just liability with one of my boats last year and that was close to 600 for 300,000.

    1996 Trophy Bayliner - Inspection?

Moisture meters are only as good as the "operator " . Unless your boat is out of the water for a couple months you will get false readings and if the bottom is painted add a few more months to it sitting on land .A plastic tip hammer would be better . A surveyor should have no affiliation...

    Looking At A 1992 LUHRS TOURNAMENT 342

No they are not known for hull rot. Bottom is solid glass , my 96 32 Open has cored sides and deck. Stringers are glassed in with no voids and a good 4" of overlap on the glass. A survey is recommended and may be needed for insurance purposes as well. Early 90s they stepped up there quality on...

Smokercraft 162 pro mag bow always high

Your prop should be matched to your max rated RPMs . Your either going to lug it to death or over rev it and watch it blow. Maybe, your first prop has a spun hub ? Have you verified that ? Can you talk to the PO and ask him what he was getting speed wise ?

Smokercraft 162 pro mag bow always high

If waterlogged it may be evenly soaked , not just the stern area. Foam will hold the water , so you will not see any water from that in the bilge. Easiest way to check it is to weigh her and check that vs factory spec. Taking into account any extra weight like gas , batteries gear and anything...

    Looking At A 1992 LUHRS TOURNAMENT 342

Luhrs Owners Group on Facebook is your place to go for questions about Luhrs. Can also read the right up.review on Luhrs @ www.Yachtsurvey.com I have a 1996 32 Open with 454s. These are not throwaway boats and IMHO the comment about boats designed for 15 years is BS. I bet 90% of the Charter...

    Reverse 454 Backfiring

Did you swap out the plug wires ? Firing order is different than a standard rotation . I would start with the plug wires. If it wasn't popping before then you better backtrack whatever you replaced . The carb may be dumping fuel into it because the float / gasket or needle and seat are messed...

1999 21FT Fish Master Tank Capacity

Do not know how easy your access is, there should be a stamp/or extra metal plate on the top of the tank ,usually by the sending unit with capacity listed. Other option is to take the measurements then Google how to get capacity of tank with measurements. Remember you will have a few gallons of...

Rough cost of replacing snap-in carpet with Sea Deck

Probably 2500 - 3 000 depending on location and if installer is busy. I just weighed both options and after talking to a dealer for both Marine Mat and Seadek who showed me boats he did with both products and what to expect. I went with the snap in marine mat.Seadek can lift in the corners ...

    Where to mount my transducer?

Let me get this straight , motor is centered and you do " not have 15" of clearance . So your telling us your boat is less than 30" wide ? Uhhh OK . Looking at your picture I would install it on the outside of your roller bunk.
