Am I getting water of of fuel path Properly 150's J150VXCIS 2001 carbed 150'

If there is water in the Tanks, then it needs to be removed. You might have to take the tanks out again, in order to get all the Water to the Pickups. A bit of Ethanol might help diluting the water. I would not recommend trying to use a Vacuum to suck any water out through the Filler tub, as...

    Spray from the outboard

You have quite a bit of Setback, and as a Starting Point, the AV plate can be about 2 inches higher than the Hull Bottom. Putting it flush/even, like you would if the Motor was mounted on the Transom, would result in it being too deep.

    Stuck between pitch

Without knowing the Engine's Power and Torque Curves, it becomes a problem to determine a WOT Rpm Range. A stock 5.7 of that era of OMC had a WOT range of 4200-4600 rpm. Yours is a Vortec, and even stock units have a range of 4400-4800. OMC Stringer Drive. That Drive was Overstressed when...

A 2 stroke engine requires 3 things to run; 1: Fuel and Air, in the Proper Portions 2: Compression, in the Crankcase, to get the Air-Fuel to the Combustion Chamber, and in the Combustion Chamber 3: A spark at the correct time Your Engine is deficient in at least One of these Items. More...

    Stainless Prop Film

Looks like a non-Polished SS Alloy that was Nickel/Chrome Plated. Boating in a Lake/River with a low PH Level(acidic), may have stripped the Plating off

Is it getting fuel? Spray a little Premix into the Carb, and see if it lights. Don't spray Starting Fluid, as it is bad for 2 Stroke Engines that pass Air-Gas-Oil through the Crankcase, as it is very good at washing Oil off the Internals

1995 25hp Johnson 2 stroke, what are the best years for the 25 hp?

Personally, I like 3 cylinder 2 Strokes as they are far better when it comes to Exhaust Tuning, which can result in better Performance and better Fuel Economy, than a Twin, or in the case of larger Engines, a 4 Cylinder

To me, he is saying just set the Points at 0.20", get the motor running and go boating

Increased Rake, holds the Bow higher, at lower Trim settings. Props with less Rake are better for raising the Stern

Did you set the Points using the Feeler Gauge as stated in the Book? If you did, it should be Fine. FYI: The Armature Plate does rotate as the Throttle is moved.

What is necessary for jet change of .002 of an inch?

Can the Spark jump a 3/8" Gap. You will need a tester similar to this Heat can cause Havoc with Ignition Components. Have you tested for spark, at the time of problem, or once you and the boat were back home, and everything has cooled down?

Welcome to iboats A 1975 would have a Magneto Ignition. You tested for spark. Did you use a Gap Tester similar to this set for about 5/16" of an Inch? A Spark at a 0.030" in open air means nothing. It takes a lot more Voltage to jump that Gap during the Compression Stroke. Speaking of...

Mercury 75hp on aluminum 16’ Starcraft

In 1985 I bought my first SS prop. It was a Mercury Prop, it and the AL it replaced were both 19in. Pitch, the SS had a 1/4 inch more Diameter. Top Speed was Identical, well within 1/2 mph. However the SS did have better Bite on the water, and didn't ventilate as much on turns, and allowed more...

Gaining speed by swapping to a SS is maybe, maybe not. Some SS props are literally SS copies of AL props, sometimes not. If there are no Differences in Blade Shape, Blade Thickness, Blade Area, Rake, Cup, Dia, and Pitch, any speed difference will be minimal, in fact the Heavier SS might be...

Mercury 75hp on aluminum 16’ Starcraft

Having the Bow Plowing when on Plane is not good from a Safety Standpoint. It can create a Condition where the Bow becomes a pivot Point and the Stern will Violently snap around when the Motor is steered

A 4 blade will likely drop you about 4 - 5 mph. And and will likely require 3 to 4 drop in Pitch to restore the Rpms. Your 18 gals of Ballast is a variable Ballast, as the day goes by, the boat's trim will be different resulting in changes to the Boats Trim. Switching from a AL to a SS, is...

1995 25hp Johnson 2 stroke, what are the best years for the 25 hp?

Some people like the Big Twin Models from the early 1950s thru 55, others are partial to the 22cu.in models of 1969-1977. Others like the 32.5cu.in models from 1977- till OMCs demise. There are likely some who like the 3 cylinder model in the late 90s. We had a 1979 version(32.5cu.in.), it was...

    I’m at a loss - Evinrude 40

Those plugs look awfully wet. The Center Electrode, also looks like it was attacked by a Chisel, but perhaps that is a Lighting issue. I am thinking you have a High Fuel Level in the Carb Bowls. BTW. You haven't been exactly Forthcoming in your Posts. Example; You only checked One of the 2...
