82 Starcraft MR 180 floor, slight refit and leaks

Wire cup wheel on a dremel. There are nylon ones for something less aggressive, but even the steel will be relatively gentle compared to a wire cup on a grinder.

Have you resealed the drain plug and any thru hulls below the water line? Any other equipment down there?

Starting a 1974 Tri-Hull Restoration, it's a Stryker Mark IV model. Need help with any information or an owners manual.

It needs to be glassed to the hull, the cap just sits on top of it. Without glassing to the hull, the sides will have way more flex and likely crack and bust.

How are thru hulls sizes determined?

You'll need to measure the hose size and length. I've seen a few that needed extra long tubes. Some are also a right angle on the inside. Best to get them out before ordering.

    Boat buying dilemma

Does the Polarkraft use any eood in it's construction? Even if it hasn't been used, that's still nearly 2 years of weathering. Worst case would be sitting around with no cover for every rain and snow.

What? This can't be right, it reads as open hull, resin, glass, resin, lay wood in, then pour resin over everything. Unless you mean you glassed the floor outside of the boat, then laid it in the hull and sealed with resin. Either way is wrong. It should be as follows. 1. Dry fit all floor...

When you say resined, you mean glassed right? It need to be part of the structure, attached with glass.

It works fine for us. It's what the boss gets from Ace. 100% silicone, no caulk or rtv.

    R.I.P Siphon gun.

Honestly, I'm surprised this one lasted as long as it did. I think I only spent about $80 on it.

    R.I.P Siphon gun.

It was one of those days where the gel sets up quick. My 1.8 siphon is cheap and old anyway, and didn't spray very well anymore. The gel was liquid one second and gelled up the next. I didn't even bother trying to clean it, just set it aside and borrowed the supervisor's gun.

We've been using silicone at work for well past the 12 years I've been there with no issues.

It might be possible to increase the towing capacity of the Jeep. Heavier shocks and springs might be enough. If there was a sub model of your jeep with a higher capacity, that would tell you that yours can be upgraded. I know a guy ( bk2life on S10 Forum) in Arizona who would likely be able...

    Carbon fiber keel guard

We use patchaid in our gel. Sprayed all at once, no wait time between coats. Scott uses Duratec, I never have. What does FGCI have?

Gel over the old gel. Spectrum I think so, not sure about composites or polynt. I just work in a shop, I don't order stuff. There's no primer for gel, it goes directly onto the glass. That depends on the kind of finish you want. A brush or roller is going to be pretty rough. We brush stuff...

    Carbon fiber keel guard

Spectrum is who we use for up to a gallon size. Be prepared for a huge hazardous shipping cost though. We actually ordered a 5 gallon of Whaler a while back. We get those from composites one, but I think the gel manufacturer is polynt composites.

    Carbon fiber keel guard

I imagine it would be similar to the gel. It would be a hard surface, so would get beat up just as bad. No to the primer, you use the same polyester resin that it was made with. Grind it well with some 40 grit, clean it, and glass it. Because you intended that much work, I had assumed you...

The ranger is done and in the wash bay. Next is a Basscat getting a hamby and a cheap fix to some damage at the back. Pic won't upload at the moment.
