16ft lund aluminium boat add kicker motor

Over my 50 plus years of boating, I have had the need to run numerous outboards off center by as much as 3-4" without issue. Just need a slight counterbalance. In my much younger days when wooden boats with tiller motors were popular, it was common to offset the motor to give the driver more...

Runs great on muffs but not in lake

If your sure the carb is clean and in good working order, then fuel adjustments and idle speed " must be set in the water while in gear and underway" this is a quote from the factory service manual!! Adjustments will not work when on muffs or a test tank. Get everything working properly, fuel...

No power to new Kenwood stereo reciever

If you have known draws on your battery, like the radio, then install a battery maintainer/ charger so you can just plug in your boat when not using it, battery will always be charged and ready and you will still have your settings. Actually better for your batterys health !!

    sd 25175 d14 replacements

I would imagine so especially around salt water...fact is when the tires are removed you will see how good the wheels are. Some folks even want new wheels if the old ones are looking shabby. Just stay away from cheap import mail order tires, unless your gonna sell it right away and want it to...

What does the inside of my transom look like?

Who knows, but boats are normally screwed or rivets to hold the panels in place, unlike a car where clips are used.

Dead battery after sitting on trailer

Chances are your vattery is now junk, Batteries normally dont come back after a complete discharge. Less than a year old will probably fall under a replacement warranty. Even if this battery comes back to life, it will be a short one. If you can get a replacement, then consider a two battery...

blower CFM needed for proper ventilation

Correct...I always made a habbit of smelling the air comming out the rear facing outlet checking for fuel odors. Get a piece of hose and get it down under the motor if you can but keep it out of any water in the bilge

    mounting a bilge pump

Over the years I have made numerous pump brackets from a piece of aluminum sheet metal. Bilge pumps dont create any force, so it just needs to hold them in position at the deepest spot in your hull. Bend an angle in the sheetmetal arm to attach it to wherever. Screws, clamp, glue, tape, again...

What are the best ST225/75R/15 boat tires?

Yep, the tire mfgrs get together and decide what is best for them, then get it apporoved by the transportation safety board. I can remember when new tires had 3/8" of tread depth or more in some cases, byt not anymore if your lucky you might find 11/32, but many are only 5/16".... subtract the...

    sd 25175 d14 replacements

Shop at a quality tire store, forget bargain tires thru mail order sources. Quality tires will also get some kind of warranty with them. Dont be afraid to look for reviews from consumers on various mfgrs.

How to wrap carpet on side bunks

Leaving an open side/ bottom is a great idea to let the water evaporate out of the wood. Retaining all that water will shorten the life of the wood, that is how I have wrapped all my wood in the past.

    Pontoon speed vs rpm

For whatever reasons my experience with pontoons is that they need more hp than a onventional V bottom of the same size to go the same speed. When running at 10-15 mph they do pretty good on fuel but when real speed is wanted, it takes a lot of extra hp to get them moving. Extra hp means more...

    Opinion on Monaro

Being a 1989, it should have a good marine survey to check for any hidden rotted wood in stringers and transom . Hulls rot from bottom up so you need to get in deep for a quality inspection !! If it qould be rotted, you would double the price to get it fixed easily

How to tell a replacable hub prop

I am using a prop shop that is local, tgey have an excellent customer rating, been here for over 40 years. How to tell a replacable hub prop

16ft lund aluminium boat add kicker motor

Can be off a little without a problem. I have a 40 merc as my main engine with plenty of room for my kicker on my 16' Sylvan. They are close but clear each other. My kicker is set for straight ahead and I steer with my bow mt trolling motor, having the remote steering makes it a breeze.
