What size motor do I need?

That 80 hp will probably push you around 20-24 mph, so if that is fast enough then good. Probably have a tough time pulling up a skier though. A 120 or there abouts would be a better choice for water sports and would get you closer to 30 mph or a little over depending on load in the boat...

Why take a chance in a fuel leak ?? Fire and boats do not go together well !! Just bite the bullit and get a new hose and squeeze bulb and be safe. No sense risking your life or your passengers !!

    New Purchase - 1977 14’ Stuery Walk-around

Make sure your transom is strong, these old tri hulls used lots of plywood in their substructure, which can rot and cause a weak hull. Look for flexing in the transom while bouncing the motor up and down. If any leaks, look closely to find where they are comming from as this could be a sign of...

Trailer Rust, cross members and welds.

Plugging holes with JB weld will keep water from draining out and speed up the rust problem...I would rethink that step..

Making a kicker motor steering addition

Yes, I use a small 2.2 hp gas for foward thrust, locked straight ahead. Then my 55 lb thrust trolling motor has autopilot and remote steering so I can pay attention to my rods and fish. Troller is controlled by a remote hanging around my neck. Works great....can tell it what course to take or...
