    2005 Rinker Captiva 192 - should I stay away

When I was a kid, I skied behind my Dads 14' mirrocraft with an 18 hp Evinrude with no problem. Then moved up to pulling two people up in his 16' Lyman with a 35 hp Johnson....cant believe that a 185 hp I/O would have a problem pulling up a skier. As with any older glass boat, serious...

    Hole shot, or up easy?

I do the same and feel the same way. I am retired so I get out a couple times a week, by myself just to have a nice fast run....but when I have family or guests, I tend to go easier, much easier..

Stingray 208 water in the engine room

Reposition your pump so it gets more water out, then have it on automatic. With a good battery it can cycle for a long time. On my Islander the pump set at the very lowest point where water accumulated, could pump all but a cup out.

Stingray 208 water in the engine room

Water runs downhill so any rain getting into the boat from anywhere will probably wind up in the engine room which is probably the lowest point in your hull as it is in most boats

Replacement Gas Cap - help needed

Certain types of threads are measured by the size pipe or tube inside diameter. It is possible that the 1 1/2" cap is really the same as your 1 3/4" cap. Not sure what type of threads are used on fuel caps....You might have to buy and try, to figure it out..

When I was younger, I looked forward to fast hole shots, but now that I am retired and more laid back, what is the hurry? More comfortable for my passengers when I come up easy....

    McCulloch Shear Pin Needed

If you use aluminum or brass pins your good....steel can work if it is soft, on larger powered motors steel might work, but on smaller motors use softer material. If needed a small brass screw can be used, carry a couple for spares while you get proper ones made or ordered.

1991 Tracker Pro Deep V 17 ignition issues

Also check your battery, just because it takes a charge doesnt mean it will hold it....full battery is 12.6 volts and up, dead battery is 12 volts !! Under 12 volts means battery may not recover. Get it tested at you local auto parts store, normally the test is free. To often a good battery...

    Water in my bilge

Had an old leaky 12' v bottom alum boat, I often pulled the plug ( could reach it from the inside!). To let the excess water out while underway. The suction from moving would suck out a couple gallons real quick!! Just make sure the plug was back in before stopping..

    McCulloch Shear Pin Needed

Brass comes in different degrees of hardness so just make up a few from round stock availiable at many hardware stores or places like Tractor Supply. If you have a local machine shop, take them a box of donuts as they may well have some scrap brass rods
