Any saving the engine? I’m devastated

New in a can does not exist. Little bit of tranny fluid or pearl oil. Run it until it smokes real bad and shut her off. Let it sit a day and fire it up and let it rip, stuff will shoot everywhere!

    40hp Dead Top Cylinder

Affects internal compression...forcing fuel in and out of the combustion chamber from the crankcase.

    I think I killed my TE60TLENE

Well I'm from Seattle so we're both NW people. Money wise, your best to just buy a used motor because we are flooded here. But call seaway marine just north of me....their one of the biggest parts guys in the world I think, I know the family. Number is up above the posts. Last option is a good...

    40hp Dead Top Cylinder

You could pull the head, get valuable information, resurface it and install it in less than 3 hours. With two strokes sometimes it's more than compression, spark and fuel. Your either over looking something or it's something stupid like coils receiving the wrong info....

    40hp Dead Top Cylinder

Dry plugs and no power can certainly point to no fuel or internal compression issues but how far did the spark jump on your measured spark test?

    40hp Dead Top Cylinder

"Tested with a spark tester" Spark jump tester? Could be fuel related but not sure you can rule out sparky yet. Is the plug wet or dry?

    1991 60hp VRO Evinrude - No Spark

Best thing to do is unplug the harness back at the motor and jump the starter. If it starts, its in the control box. But really though, could be many things. You will probably need to learn how to diagnose individual electrical components to find it. Or take it to a pro. Cheers

    2000 Johnson surging

Assuming this is a 2 stroke, probably shouldn't use it at high speeds until you figure it out. A lean situation is never very good for them.

Any saving the engine? I’m devastated

Well it could have been running at the dock while tied up. Just to set that straight. If the motor wasn't running when it entered the water you don't have to do very much.... Especially in freshwater. Starter needs to come apart. Pretty easy really, brushes are the hardest part to...

Any saving the engine? I’m devastated

I agree with race, the real fun starts now. There's a big difference if it was running when it went under or if it was not. But the battery does lots of damage, wires will start to go starter will implode these are the things that you now have to do depending on the question above that you...

Any saving the engine? I’m devastated

This is all to much, OMC suggest if you can't clean it pretty damn fast resubmerge it. But what I do, and this is in salt, is remove the plugs, stick the garden hose down the holes and flush it out. Then rinse down everything and pour two stroke oil down each spark plug hole and hand crank for...

Need advice on 1989 4 HP Johnson

If you go Racerone style, there is probably an adapter otherwise drill a hole in the shaft and stick a pin in it after you slide the slide hammer receiver in it. Or just do my trick. It's 50/50. Do not clamp on any bearing or seal spot. Use the middle area. Watch hitting your thumbs, redneck!🤣
