    Is it common for the cable to stretch out of adjustment or am I missing something? My buddy brought his boat to me and its about an inch from going into either forward or reverse. I cant adjust anymore to get it to engage.

    might have a cap on the nose thats threaded. Kinda like a nut to hold the prop on. The manual says 2 different styles. One with a shear pin and one with a screw on nut

    Made by Force for Sears. Everyone made motors for Sears throughout the years. Chrysler, Force, Mercury are gonna be your starting point.

    If thats the case your good. Put your hand in the spray and feel it. If its cool then your good. you can also put your finger on the head and see if its hot. Just looked at my West Bend manual and it doesnt exactly say where but the Scott manual said in the back. I know alot of motors sprayed...

    It has points and condenser have you checked them? Ohm your condenser and clean and re-set the points. You can get replacements at NAPA. No electric kill switch. Very simple motors. They were made in 1977-79

    Its made by Force. All 7.5hp motors have a leg that is water cooled. yours is an 88-89 the only years it was produced.

    Did you OHM test the coil to see if it was bad? Did you clean the points and re-set or replace?
