    1985 50HP 4-cylinder power loss

Back in the Day(1970s), the Procedure was spray the Stuff in there, when the can was getting close to empty, reduce the rpm a bit and Stall the Engine with an excessive amount, let it sit a couple of Hours, then go roaring down the lake, to blow the stuff out. In the 60s and 70s, OMC Engine...

Disconnecting the fuel line, let engine burn gas ?

A lot of OMC Outboards were Needle, Roller, and Ball Bearing going back as far as 1957. Even after the switch to 50:1 in 1964, some of their smaller engines, the 5 1/2 for example, still had Sleeve Bearings for the Lower Crankshaft Bearing. I guess they figured there would still be enough pooled...

2011 volvo penta 5.0 engine quits after hitting large wake.

Welcome to iboats A sudden violent rise of the bow, must be causing an Intermittent open/short in the engine harness. Check for any chafed wires that could be grounding, that includes the Harness going to the Helm, as well as under the Dash

115hp 2 str 4 cyl merc high rpm trouble?

If the engine ran lean because of the lack of Fuel, you may have mechanical problems. Compression Test Check for a Spark that can jump a 3/8" gap

    1991 5.7 350v8 no acceleration after 2000 rpm - bogging out

That should direct you to look at the Accelerator Pump Circuit(clogged passages, and/or discharge nozzles), and the Power Enrichment Circuit(power Piston Stuck). The carb is likely a Q-jet, not too hard to service, Most repairs, a even a lot of Cleaning can be done just by removing the Top of...

    1991 5.7 350v8 no acceleration after 2000 rpm - bogging out

Rebuilding a Carb is more than tearing it apart, and replacing the Gaskets. It involves actually checking the Settings of New as well as Old Parts, and Linkages

Boat two stroke engine stalls when throttle is applied unless I throttle up very slowly

Revving in Neutral means Squat. In fact, keep doing it, and you are likely to not have to worry about any Running Issues... You have had several people suggest things to check, Revving it Neutral wasn't one of them. Compression Ignition that can provide a Spark that can jump 3/8" on all...

Mercury 90 running super rough, fuel coming out from throats of carbs.

Those Floats have been known to Wedge themselves a bit crooked and refuse to rise up and close the Inlet. At least that was what the ones in my 115 did a few times. I got pretty good at taking the Inlet-cover off the carb, and/or gently tap the fuel bowl with a Rubberized Hammer.

    1985 50HP 4-cylinder power loss

Carbon buildup behind the Rings is Gradual, but eventually there comes a point where the Rings can no longer compress, and when that happens, bad things happen to the Rings , Ring Grooves, and or Cylinder Walls

Need prop help with new boat

Ertia? Google Search shows nothing for props. Did you mean Enertia? If you replaced a 17" prop with a 19" prop that had more Diameter, the boat would be even slower out of the hole.

Just thought I'd share a nice photo.

We had that one for 3 summers, 75, 76, and 77. Very well constructed. They rode real nice in Calm Water, but really pounded in Chop(not much deadrise in that Hull. They were very stable while not moving, and it steered real nice, it would simply change directions with no skidding or threat of...

    gear box oil leaking

Well, if oil is getting out, water should be getting in. Remove the Drain Plug and see what comes out. Water, Oil, or something that looks like Bailey's Irish Creme.
