    Johnson lower unit help

Both engines show as 1993, so I know of no reason it shouldn't fit as they should be the exact same lower unit. Of course you could just be buying a another pile of junk

1977 Crestliner Muskie 7**, Outboat Restore Project

Don't put that liner crap in a boat. Ever since the Flex-Seal infomercials aired, ideas like this keep popping up

    Boat Ramp Etiquette

The ramp where I routinely launch is technically 4 lanes wide, but 5 can actually fit, but most drivers are only skilled enough to do 2, sometimes 3 on at the same time.

    Boat Ramp Etiquette

I prefer to have the Dock(s) about 80 ft from the Launch. That way no SOB can block a lane by tying up close to the ramp

You are probably going to have to MacGyver up something securely to the Carry Handle, that can attach to the Rod. Just remember, you have to due some Diligence when making something, as it may affect your Liability in case of an Accident/Incident Are there any dealers in your area? They may...

Where to attach vacuum gauge to 3.0L?

A Vacuum gauge can't by itself explain what is Wrong, it will provide information, but the person reading it needs to be able to determine what is going on. Think of it as an Analog Engine Scanner, the Needle being the Codes

Steering bracket help 1959 lark 35

Searching thru my old OMC catalogs, I can only find Connectors for the Pulley-Clothesline Systems. I have actually only ever seen the P-C systems used on those engine. I also checked Land&Sea for something, but nothing I see you engine has the Trailering Lock, on port Transom Bracket.

    Hydrofoil/Whale Tail Good or Bad

They also exaggerate trimming of the engine in, which can be dangerous as it can cause the Bow to be forced too low, and then acting as a Pivot Point when the engine is pivoted to steer, when on plane. Many boats have went out of control when operated in this configuration

    Boat Ramp Etiquette

If you made your own Lane, I can understand why people were Pissed at you. If the lanes were designed to have a wide gap between them, it was for reasons of Safety, If you had hit someone standing between the lanes, you likely would be facing Criminal Negligence Charges, not to mention Civil Suits.

Disconnecting the fuel line, let engine burn gas ?

I know the Clearances never changed between the 63s and 64s. In 64, OMC was still recommending 30 Weight Non Detergent Oil, or an Outboard Oil, likely the same stuff. They didn't market the TCW stuff until about 1966. OMC did notice a drop in Warranty Claims of Damage caused by Preignition after...

Disconnecting the fuel line, let engine burn gas ?

The only real differences on most Evinrude Models(18/20 and higher HP) between the 63 and 64 were, the 64 had Tin Plated Pistons, and the Auto Chokes used Hot Air, rather than Warm Water. A few of the small engines had changes to the Bearings to allow 50:1 The 100:1 mix required the use of...

    1984 Evinrude 25hp mounting

A 4" Setback is minimal, but you probably could raise the engine an extra 1/4" higher, not that it would really matter. Raising the mounting height of an engine doesn't really offer any speed/handling improvements until 45+mph

Prop diameter effect and planing trouble

Merc's High 5 was popular with Skiers and other Watersportsters. It has 5 small blades, and doesn't appear to be all that large in the Diameter. With 1 weak cylinder, you are effectively running a 4 cylinder engine, as the power of the 5th is being used to carry the dead one. If it takes a...

    Slow etec 50 hp

Smaller Diameter, may mean less Blade Area, and while it may increase the rpm, it can also increase the % of Slip. A lot of Prop Lines have the dia getting smaller as the pitch goes up. I rarely worry about Diameter, preferring to let the Prop Engineers do that. Is the Engine in Good Shape? Good...
