    motor not running correct

Idle problems often occur in passages that plug up and aren't easily cleaned until the Area is exposed. A Serial # would come in handy to be able to view the correct Parts lists to see what the Carb looks like

    motor not running correct

Welcome to iboats Spraying Carb Cleaner into a Carb, only cleans the Choke and Throttle Plates and the top of the Discharge Nozzle What year is this motor? If the Choke/Primer system is the only way to keep the motor running, that likely means the Idle Fuel Passages are plugged, or there is the...

    1980 Evinrude 35 horse

My first thought was WTF, but I guess there have been some people who have tried to hone the Upper Cylinder Walls, with the Piston at BDC

    Shore power

Maybe it used to have Chargers, and/or Appliances. Boats and the Electrical Grid are NOT Compatible, so if you ever decide to add either, make sure you are using an Isolated Source of Electricity

    Mercruiser 5.7 won’t make power

On a very long fuel Line/Pipe, the diameter should be increased, just to reduce internal Friction. That 5.7 can Hoover 35 gallons in about 90 minutes at WOT, at least mine can

    Controls or cables?

The standard MerControl box is quite durable. The Go-Go Lever, can be down around 7 or 8 o'clock at Full Throttle. As mentioned make sure both Cables are the correctly adjusted length wise. 1964 and 1966 blocks

Shouldn't be a problem. Driveshafts and Crankshafts are the same both years, and the bolt pattern for the block and exhaust housing are the same.

    Evinrude Sportwin 4423 carb setting

Post some pics of the carb. I have service books for some of the Johnson's of that era, but back then, E and J weren't yet the same engine. But Johnson also had some very odd Fuel Delivery Systems as well.

    1980 Evinrude 35 horse

Welcome to iboats Dingleberry Hones are really not suitable for Engines that have Ports in the Cylinder Walls, the Balls, are under tension when in the bore, and will extend into the port, and damage both the ball and the Port. They also don't reveal the tapers in bore like the standard Hone...

    Please help 1975 mercury 200 20hp

Finding a Gearcase from another engine would be a good idea. As I think the current case is going to give you trouble with Exhaust Gases getting out and interfering with the prop's grip. Also the Nut securing the Rear Bearing Carrier has to be unscrewed from the area that broke off, coming out...

Welcome to iboats On the Muffs or in the water? Running on the Muffs and Hose means nothing, the Raw Water Pump is there for the ride. Take the Pump apart and replace the impeller. On Volvos it is generally easy to replace the pump, unless you have to tear half the boat apart to access its...

    TCW-2, use it?

The oil mixed with gas goes thru carb, and while the Gasoline Vapourizes, the oil in the form of droplets, is carried along into the Crankcase where some of it lands on various parts to provide Lubrication. some of it flows into the Combustion Chamber, where some of it burns and some of passes...

    TCW-2, use it?

Straight from the Owners Manual of a 1957 Evinrude 35hp There were Outboard Oils back then. OMC and Mercury introduced their own Oils in the mid 1960s, because a lot the Brand Name Oils were really garbage and didn't meet the demands an Outboard placed on them

    TCW-2, use it?

First time I saw it was in the 80s, it was a colourless jelly that was clogging up a Fuel Pickup Screen in a Portable Tank. I figured it was from Gasoline decomposing, from old age.

    Starting problems.

If you want to be in Violation of some Laws and want to blow up your Boat, and have your Insurance deny any Claim, go ahead. There are reasons as to why there is USCG certification when it comes to Electrical and Fuel System parts.
