    Mercruiser 5.7 won’t make power

A SB 350 isn't going to need 600CFM until it is long past 6000rpm

No, you want to use new rings, not old rings that are worn to a different cylinder

What brand of 2 stroke oil do you use for your Johnson Evinrude 2 stroke

Doesn't get me Angry, I know which Oils are better for certain engines, and I have my preferences. Some people have the idea that all Oils are the same except for dye and Label, their minds are made up, and any facts just bore them.

    Mercruiser 5.7 won’t make power

If the cam change moved the Powerband up higher in the rpm range, the engine is certainly producing less Torque at lower rpms, exactly where the boat needs all the Torque it can get to get it up on plane, the drop in Torque might be part of what is keeping it from getting past 2000 rpm I wonder...

It just suddenly moves several degrees, then returns to where it was? and you are not revving the engine when it is doing that?

1968-72 Evinrude 9-1/2 Hp sport twin Questions

That engine had a very restrictive Exhaust and you aren't going to get any more power out of it. The 74 9.9 that replaced it can be hopped up to be the same as the 15 that also came out in 74. FYI, the 9 1/2 was made 1964 through 1973

Caught another boats anchor, whos fault?

I've had my mooring lines dragging in the water and they have gotten caught by the prop, and the engine has always stalled, mind you it was only going about 1000 rpm.

    Mercruiser 5.7 won’t make power

I have never used an Advance Light, just a regular Inductive Timing Light aimed at the Harmonic Balancer I too suspect that the Erratic Flashes are the result of a miss, but it couldn't be every 5th, as that would mean every cylinder is misfiring at some point.

Caught another boats anchor, whos fault?

Perhaps once his line is repeatedly cut, he might clue in. It could have been interesting if an older outboard with a Bullet shaped Gearcase had happened along and snared the Rope. I know the rope would have been cut, or engine stalled, but I wonder how many feet old Frog Mouth's Boat would have...

    Hydro Shield Skeg Foil

Any of those Doelfins, Whaletails, are really, Solutions in search of a Problem. They can and do create more problems than they could ever solve. Plus they just look Stupid. If they did anything of Value, the motors/outdrives would be coming out of the Factory with AV Plates that size and shape

Force 125 hp 4 cyl dies at idle. Any ideas what I should check?

Compression, both Crankcase and Cylinder Fuel in the correct portion Spark at the correct time All are needed for the engine to start and run. Take away any of them and it won't, or it won't run well. So... Compression Test Does the Ignition System produce a Spark that can jump a 3/8" gap at all...

    Anyone Seen these?

I can't comment on the Tahoe-Escalade comparision, but I have owned several Caddies and their cousins in the Buick and Olds lines, often at the same time. There were many differences in the Cars, construction wise. Anyone who would try to tell me their Buick Electra, or Old Regency was the same...
