    Have you tried an oscillating multi tool? See if you can get in between top cap and hull. Worth a shot since you were considering to cut away fiberglass and re glass . Go slow and careful. Keep us posted

    Any fuel present in the carbs after turning over? Check float height in carbs. Check needle valve in carbs. Confirm the fuel pump was put back together correctly after rebuild( ask me how I know LOL).

    Fuel tank dimensions 1990 Bayliner 2651

    Looking to replace my fuel tank on a 1990 Bayliner 2651. Gotta cut the fuel tank from the aft cabin. I can determine the width by visual inspection in the engine compartment, I just don’t know the length. Anyone have a ballpark length of the tank? Any help would be appreciated.

    Have you considered using 1/2” pink foam board insulation to mock up what you may want? This way you can get a look at what’s possible and get an idea of the dimensions your looking at. Built my home bar this way. Worked great. Just a though.

    A 20’ PENN YAN cruiser from 1980 does not show in the NADA VALUE AND PRICE GUIDE. once you have the correct model you can go there and get all specs. Value, weight, beam etc.

    I agree with KJM… doesnt have to be marine ply. HOWEVER I’d seal it with poly urethane due to the moist environment OR consider Formica or some other laminate for the final finish that will hold up.

    I agree with all above! Easy fix..... buy the kit (I’m on my second purchase).....follow instructions. Toughest part will be to match the color...try and do some color testing before you put it on the boat... dried gelcoat looks different than wet. Good luck.
