    With out that in place be aware of any hard reverse throttle or maybe even slowing down to quickly. I guess you could use the manual lock if you have one but I never lock mine Incase I should hit something

    Corrosion is a powerful thing. When was the last time the tilt/steering tube was greased? Those cylinders are big $$$.

    Sounds like you need to start over. The float needle is likely stuck open or not adjusted properly.

    I made one from gasket material I got at Napa auto parts. I don’t have a part number but I can say it’s blue and 3/64 in thickness.

    I would say that hole was either a grease fitting or a tensioning screw for the steering.

    To check for water in the fuel disconnect the fuel line and pump some fuel into a glass jar with the bulb. Let it settle out for a few minutes. If there is water you will see it in the bottom of the jar.

    This is true. For some reason I thought he said it helped to pump the ball but after reading again I was mistaken.

    If pumping the ball helps it might be worth taking a look at your fuel line for internal deterioration causing an obstruction and checking the tank vent.

    I have watched your video 10 times now and I’m still not sure what to say. Although it is normal for some water to flow from that area it does seem to be a bit excessive in my option. Hopefully someone else will chime in and help you out. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help. Best

    Yes there is no choke butterfly. When you pull the knob it squirts fuel into the carb. Just like your old style way of doing it manually.

    If it’s the pull style manual primer pull the knob 2 or 3 times. After it starts check to be sure the knob retracted all the back in.

    You may have some blockage within the water passages. You might be able to track it down to a general area with an inferred temp gun. But at the end of the day you would be better off pulling the head and cleaning out the passages. Was this a salt water motor?

    Are you sure the connector is lined up properly? The bolt should be in the detent on the shaft.

    What type of primer do you have? Manual or electric? If electric is the red lever in the manual position? If manual the seals could be shot.
