1970 4 hp Evinrude stops suddenly

I’m sorry but it drives me crazy when people bash Chinese quality. The ones to blame are the companies that spec their products to be made. If you spec a quality product that’s what you will get but it comes at a higher price and that’s when things go down hill. I have spent some time in China...

    Evinrude Mate 2 HP Driveshaft

Great news. If by chance it doesn’t work out. There is a difference between welding and spray welding. Spray welding is considered a cold process and should not warp the shaft. Hopefully the polishing will work out for you. Best

    1974 Evinrude 25hp wont run.

I’m leaning towards your coils not being adjusted correctly. They are likely dragging on the flywheel.

1989 Evinrude 30 2-stroke losing power at high RPMs

That supposed to be the tank vent and it’s broken. You need to vent the tank or it will leak when it expands and it will keep your motor from running as well if its closed. I only close mine durning transport in my truck. You should get a new tank or at least replace the sending unit.

2010 Evinrude E-Tec 60 HP cold start up issues

I had this problem once and when I took the starter apart I found a cracked magnet. It would be worth disassembling to have a look.

    64 Johnson 9.5 “Turtle Motor”

If I’m understanding this correctly it sounds like you have to much water in the barrel. Maybe even covering your exhaust so you may be pumping water just fine but you can’t see it.

    Evinrude Mate 2 HP Driveshaft

It could be spray welded and turned back down to spec if you can find a good machine shop.

    No pee Johnson outboard

This has been an adventure for you for sure. That black stuff could be impeller material that could be clogging things up. Removing the power head is not a big deal but there is always a chance of breaking bolts. Just take your time if a bolt doesn’t feel right Don’t force and use penetrating...

    No pee Johnson outboard

It seems it’s time to take a step back and start from the beginning following Crosbymans questions to the T. If you do this carefully you will find your problem. Unless I missed it we still don’t know where your water level is In relation to the pump on this motor. I’m just curious as to what...

    No pee Johnson outboard

I ask again? Are you running in a barrel or on muffs? If in a barrel how far above the pick up screen is your water level? These pumps are not self priming. The water needs to be 6 to 8 inches above the screen. When it stop peeing you could be getting air instead of water.

96 Johnson 25HP problem at full throttle

You should start a new post as this one is old. In the mean time you can mark your hub and prop if you have a hub and then check your marks after the problem occurs. If your marks are not lined up then it’s slipping.

Water in fuel, how to restart engine on good gas

In my eyes the problem with ethanol fuel is not using it in a timely manner. It’s fine in an automotive system that is a sealed system but in a vented system like we find in boats it will collect moisture from the air. Fuel stabilizers are effective and very important for long term storage and...
