Throttle and remote control linkage adjustment

The engine needs to run for it to shift; do not force the shifter when engine is off!!! Further adjustment can be made on the other end of the shifter-cable (in/on the control-box)

Need a Stator for 1994 Force 70 Outboard

I did a quick search (tried to copy & paste, but did not work. however the product you found is the correct one and it has the explanation of the hook-up

    '87 Force 125HP ignition problem

No visual defects found and/or excessive rust built-up

    Mercury outboard blowing steam

Yup, not when you're running on muffs As racerone mentioned; the lines could be jammed with debris and may slip shut by being cramped together by the water pushing it. Reverse the water flow or pull the water jacket

    '87 Force 125HP ignition problem

    I moved on and swapped the whole "tested good" assembly from the spare over to motor on the boat. Got the motor to run but with the drop down test I noticed #4 is not firing, likely a broken wire during set over. we'll see :{
  9. The Force power

    '87 Force 125HP ignition problem

I only took the reading while it was disconnected (the way you say above) Readings Trigger voltage within spec Stator voltage zero on all

    50 hp high speed misfire

:D yeah, I discovered this by running a late '70's Merc. with no LU and it did the exact same thing. and for cooling.......I had shoved a garden-hose onto the copper water-tube. Man, it was loud!!!! without having water as a sound damper. lol
  11. The Force power

    50 hp high speed misfire

No, behind the screens from the recirculating. Carefully remove the screens and you'll see a tiny hole, poke with stiff wire through or blow compressed air through
  12. The Force power

    50 hp high speed misfire

Did you check the passage behind the screens? verify if there not plugged
  13. The Force power

    '87 Force 125HP ignition problem

Update Stator & trigger check; Stator - Ohm reading were good but not voltage-output on two leads Trigger - Ohm & voltage readings are good thus a keeper Well @jerryjerry05 once again, you were right; a "tested good" stator can be bad :) @Jiggz one thing stays a mystery, how when I...
  14. The Force power

    50 hp high speed misfire

I think........it is because there's no resistance/load whatsoever on the motor
  15. The Force power

    Mercury outboard blowing steam

Tiny bugs like to plug-up the tell-tail & beyond causing very little water to pass through. Remove the the hose & feed picture wire through and try to rotate go as far as you possibly can. Are you sure the water tube is secured into the powerhead and not leaking?
  16. The Force power

    50 hp high speed misfire

There's your answer! running it without a prop will make it sound like a misfire! put a prop on and it will not sound like it. They can tear that's an easy check (although I'm not familiar with your engine)

    '87 Force 125HP ignition problem

Thank you & will check this also (have not done an OHM-reading on the trigger wires either)

    Trim motor

Update; Found the "overload" tap/contact had broken off & was able to re-attach with a tiny rivet. Cleaned the armature & rust off the spool / oiled the shaft and she spinning/pumping as it should
