Bilge Pump question on 1989 Bayliner Capri

Please do not post to threads that have been inactive for more than approximately 3 months UNLESS you are the original poster. We have very active forums and any thread that remains inactive for that long should be considered "dead". It is especially confusing when there is an entirely new...

    Battery storage

True in most cases, mostly depends on the size battery. In my case I use a 31c battery and I plug it in once a month for a day or two, on that size battery the (barely) 1 amp output does not cause the boil off

1990 Force 120 2 stroke loss of power high rpm

1.Disconnect the ball link to the carb cam at the timing tower. Disconnecting at the cam risks bending the cam. Move the cam away from the carb roller. 2. Loosen the screw(s) on the aluminum tie bar and let all carbs close completely, then tighten again. 3. Set the cam so that the scribed line...

1990 Force 120 2 stroke loss of power high rpm

I'm glad you got it working right. :D The original writing / posting said; no matter what do not set the fuel/air-mixture screw less than 3/4 from lightly seated. BUT with the fuel we run today !!! its "recommended" to go with no less than 1 The idle-settings 750 RPM in gear or 1000 RPM in...

    Mercury 402 40hp 1970s prop unit removal

As Merc850 already said; you are better of at this point to shop for another LU (lower-unit) because of the chunk missing there's a lot of corrosion built-up and I have my doubts if the surface still can be re-finish/polished smooth for the O-ring to seal Normally after the retaining-ring...

    Force 85 Bad remote control

Nothing "weird" about them; just 4 mounting-screws
  17. The Force power

    How bad is it?

I belief that the coolant water played a role also as the water reached the top, it has passed the other cylinders already (but that's in most cases??)

1985 Mercury 85hp (4 cyl) runs great for 20 minutes then boggs down

When you had the flywheel off did you see if there were any magnets missing ? (on flywheel) But you will have to get a timing-light to see if she's firing on all in all modes
